More Things in My Washer

I guess I shouldn't have complained about all the missing socks yesterday. This is what I pulled out of the dryer today. Apparently I'm not only washing clothes these days, but crustacean parts as well. Oh gosh, I hope it was just a claw when it went in and not a whole crayfish! Ugh. "JACKSON! No more playing by the creek!!!"

Keep your paws and claws clean. That's what my Mom always used to say. Or I just made that up. You'll never know.

OK, I will never complain about all the little rocks my kids bring home and forget about, until I take them out of the washer.

That's pretty disgusting. I usually only find rocks, Barbie accessories, and husband's earplugs from work.

Scarier than the crayfish claw is the partial finger. Does your family own a chainsaw or just really sharp knives? ;)

Oh my word! And I thought the things that emerged from *my* washer were weird...

Thank goodness you don't have a hamster!

Ewwwwww! That reminds me of several years ago when it was a locust year. My kids went crazy collecting locusts and apparently putting them in their pockets. I was seriously traumatized when I realized that all of the little "twigs" strewn throughout my washer were actually insect legs.

Are you sure that wasn't something left over from your "ocean on a plate"?! ;)

I found the same thing except a little bigger when we moved last month, but it was in my kitchen utensil drawer! Jenn

I'm imagining that times three!

I'm going to have to make a rule that the boys (or their Daddy) clean out their own pockets before I wash. Eewww!

I'm thinking that before the little guy lost his claw, he was hiding in your dryer stealing socks! Blasted little crayfish sock monster! Heehee!

I had to laugh when I saw the crawfish claw. It took me back to the 70's/80's when my sons were in scouts. We used to boil the crawfish they caught and serve them as part of their dinner. (Crawfish are an acceptable fair for a main dish in the South). From this we Mom's made a little booklet filled with our Mothers' and Grandmothers' recipes for preparing and service crawfish. We wanted to have 101 entries but came up short and made up a few and gave our composite the title
"100 Ways to Prepare Crawdads." Now we can update the old version (If I can find a copy) and publish "101 Ways...."

LOL! Almost as bad as the ROACH (*gag*!) dh found in the washer this week! No, we do not have an infestation like that - they come in from outside! (double gag!)

I meant to comment yesterday about the socks. I have four kids, and can totally relate. That's pretty much my evenings, matching socks. But, have you ever seen these: http://www.sockpro.com/sockpro.htm

You can keep your socks together in the wash!! I use it now, and LOVE it! Here's a link to my blog where I rave about it:

Good luck!

Your posts are so entertaining! I have to ask, what age of child do you enjoy most? What age is the worst? I have a 22 month old and I think the terrible twos have begun (though I've heard three is much worse).

Wow, you finally pulled something out of your dryer I never pulled out before! Not many crustaceans around here.

Ugh! That may just be worse than crayons in the dryer!

Hmm. I thought those were dry clean only. Good to know.

The pic came up before the text did and I thought it was a tooth. That would be one scary tooth, though, and we would all wonder which kid missed a few dentist appointments or ate one of the crazy 'speriments.

I continue to pull stink beetles from our washer and dryer. My fourth loves the bugs we call "Butt Beetles" and puts them in her pockets. I wash them on a bi-weekly basis and often dry them too. I should probably check pockets before washing, but the thought of pulling a live bug from a pocket is much more frightening to me than a freshly laundered dead one.

OMGosh!!! LOL!

Well, I can't say I have ever pulled a claw from the washer... usually it's quarters, hair ties, sheet rock screws, drill bits etc. Once I missed a pack of chewing gum and it made its way to the dryer - what a fun melted mess that was!

Oh my, lol!
