There's a First Time for Everything

I was tagged for this meme like 8 months ago. I can't even remember who tagged me. I'm just now getting around to it. Procrastinator? Who, me? Noooo. Why do you ask?

1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
Don

2. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Ever? I have no idea! Today? A lovely Pinot Grigio

3. What was your FIRST job?
I worked at K-Mart. Gotta go to K-Mart.

4. What was your FIRST car?
A white Ford Mustang that usually worked. Sometimes I needed to open the hood and stick a pencil in this little flap-thingy for it to start though. I killed the transmission on it. When your dad tells you to change the oil every 3 months, he has a reason. Listen to him.

5. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?

Michelle Brownlow

6. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
I don't know! I think the first thing I thought of was coffee.
7. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Miss Heater. I adored her!

8. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
I don't remember. Mom? Dad?

9. Who was your FIRST best friend, and are you still friends with him / her?
I don't remember for sure who my first best friend was. My best friend all through grade school though was Mary Hook. We're not really still in touch, but it was nice to see her at my reunion this fall. My best friends in high school were Julie, Erica and Jenny. I'm still best friends with Julie and Jen. Erica died in a car wreck several years ago. It still makes me really sad when I think about it.

10. Who was your FIRST kiss?
That would be Chad. I dated him the summer between 8th and 9th grades.

11. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
The kids in general. I believe I said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" when they woke me up.

12. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
See number 6.

13. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
I'm embarrassed to admit it was Wham!

14. What was your FIRST tattoo or piercing?
After begging my mom to let me get my ears pierced forever, she finally relented when I was in 4th grade. When I got to the store, I threw a whiny fit and screamed and generally embarrassed my mom because everyone thought she was making me get them pierced. I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and knew everything.

15. What was the FIRST foreign country you went to?
Canada

16. What was the FIRST movie you saw in the theater?
I have no clue. Again Mom? Dad? Speaking of, why don't you guys ever leave comments on my blog??? You know, you could write stuff like, "We're so proud of Dawn! She's really our favorite daughter! We just adore her!"

17. When was your FIRST detention?
Umm, I've never had detention. Nope. Never. I never did anything against school rules. Heh heh heh, on second hand, you probably don't have to leave comments on my blog, Mom and Dad. In fact, you really don't even have to read it. Heh heh.

18. What was the FIRST state you lived in?
Illinois

19. Who was the FIRST person to really break your heart?
I don't really remember. Hmmm, maybe it was a kid Chip, who I had a crush on when I was a cheerleader for the church basketball team. He didn't know I was alive.

20. With whom was your FIRST date?
Chad. We went to see some Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvestor Stalone, Rambo something or other movie, I think.

21. What was your FIRST pet?
I had a fish I called Goldy Gold. I don't remember this. My first real pet was a dog named Corky. My sister wanted to name him Skizzy. My sister's weird. (Love ya Deb. Just checking to see if you read my blog since you never leave me comments either!)

22. Who was your FIRST roommate?
My friend Erica. We were total slobs. Oh my gosh, I'm surprised our place wasn't condemned! We used to pay her brother to clean for us. LOL!

23. Who was your FIRST love?
Hmmm, I guess that would be Don. I dated him when I was a senior in high school.

24. What was your FIRST screen name?
tuppdawn (I sold Tupperware at the time.)

25. When did you have your FIRST baby?
In 1994 when I was 24. Then I had another when I was 26. Then 28, then 31, 33, and again when I was 35.

I've got some more reviews and giveaways up HERE. Check them out!

Are answers #14 and #21 directly related to each other? For goodness, why a goldfish? In memory of Goldy Gold? haa haa!

I love seeing all the pics of you at various ages -- they're so much fun. And almost make me want to go out and get a scanner, but not quite ;)

As for your answer about the first thing you thought about this morning, I had to go check #6 because I was pretty sure it was the pinot grigio. Which sounds pretty good to me right now! :)

My first real pet was a dog named Corky, too! He was a black cocker spaniel.

Fun meme! I never had detention in school. I was a good girl back then. The week before graduation, though, my friend and I realized we'd never cut a class, so we asked our teacher if we could cut and he said yes. :)

I am afraid to do this one, I'm afraid it would not only bring on tears, tears of laughter and serious embarrassment......but I like the way you did it.

And, while I'm here, can I ask you and your readers to come play along in my 12 Days of Christmas Give Aways?

I totally just copied this from you. Cause I'm a stealer. Or robber. Whatevs.

Umm...Dawn...I am laughing. Sorry! LOL--The engine oil has nothing to do with the transmission unless you are talking about transmission fluid on an automatic or gear oil on a stick shift. Was it a stick? Clutches stink in those things and wear out quick. And really, was your first grade teacher's name Miss HEATER? Just kidding around! Loved the answers and laughed! :o)

ahem. I, uhh, used to sell Tupperware too. I got some valuable skills from it, so I don't regret it. Even though I have tons of it in my shed still.

I use to LOVE WHAM! I had their pics all over my wall and was in love with George Micheal! Well, until I found out he was gay!

This is priceless, you are all different ages. You realize now that you have posted them, the Paparazzi and show producers don't have to bug your parents about them when you are rich and famous and on the Ellen Show and Oprah. The best one is with Baby Austin. Proud Mama. Awesome post! I'll probably copy the questions and use them on mine. With your permission of course.

You would've loved the name Skizzy and you know it!And it was "Rambo Fist Blood Part II"
And of course I read your blog, you big goober!

Holy crow! I had that exact same prom dress!

Jill from Indiana

I think we ALL had that exact same prom dress (and hairstyle, too, for that matter), except mine was teal. I had to give my date a lesson on what that color was so that he could get the matching bowtie and cummerbund. And then his bangs were almost as high as mine were (spiked, though). Ah, the 80's. Gotta be glad they're over!

Thanks for the smile today!

Dawn,

I had the brother to your white mustang in high school.....except, instead of a pencil, I used the butt of a whip that belonged to my little brother......i felt that was especially appropriate since the car was named for a horse...

My parents don't ever leave comments on my blog, either. I have to practically beg them to even read it! You'd think they'd want to see pictures of their grandkids who live two states away. And I live in the west, so that's a 12+ hour drive away!

I love that even though I'm in Australia that our hospitals use the same ugly blankets to wrap babies in :D

Now when you call K-Mart, the person answers the phone: "Thank you for calling K-Mart, this is ___! What can I help you discover today?"

Seriously? Discover?

I'm really having a difficult time not crank calling our local stores!

(commenting about your messy room pic from your meme section) Are you sure it wasn't the cat with the scary glowing eyes that wasn't messing up stuff when you weren't looking? That is one freaky looking cat!
