Meanwhile, my kids (who will be coming on this tour with me) will be running around the store like loonies. Clay and Brooklyn will be playing hide and seek, knocking over displays. Lexi will be drawing in the books and asking me, "How do you spell this?" every minute and a half. Jackson will bring me a stack 249 books with the question, "Can I get these, Mom?" Savannah will be sitting there looking bored and complaining that I won't get her a cell phone of her own and Austin will sneak over to Starbucks, buy some coffee and then, hyped up on caffeine, act even weirder than he already does. Sounds like a fun time, no?
Which brings me to my question. I really, really don't want to sit in an empty store like a dork, so tell me where you live so my publisher can come up with a plan that includes cities of folks who know who I am and who would
Thank you!

«Oldest ‹Older 601 – 718 of 718I am SO excited about your book. I already have plans on buying one for each of my friends for Christmas! I would be SO excited if your tour included the Dallas/Ft Worth area!
Dawn -
I'm in Altoona, IA (okay, so basically just Des Moines) and would LOVE to have to come here! I'd even bring some goodies to help entice you! Of course, I'd also bring something to help entertain the kids as well ~ maybe my own kids!
Madison WI Loves you Dawn!!! I would also drive an hour to Milwaukee! We cant wait to meet you!
Charleston, South Carolina will love you! Barnes and Noble in West Ashley is my favorite (just to make it more convenient for me.)

Please come to the Boston, MA or Salem, NH area!! (I'm in NE MA and lots of us shop in Salem 'cause there's no tax... Plus there's a big huge B&N up there for you. Guaranteed not an empty store! (And the toy store is 2 stores down for bribes too.)
Hope to see you!
I don't know if this has been said already or if you read all these comments but I am in Northwest Indiana and would love to come see you. I unfortunatly will not bring my kids though because they would just aid yours in tearing up the place. I have 5 kids under 6 so they are very destructive especailly since I only have one girl.
Fort Knox, Kentucky! Come on, who doesn't want to come to Fort Knox? Stick the kids in Basic Training with some drill sergeants and hang out with all us Army wives. But I'd go to Louisville to see you if it has to be a big city.
Birmingham, AL We are so central to everyone. I don't know what politician didn't accept the big airport idea before Atlanta. But we are equal driving distance to Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, MS, FL. I am pleading the case. Don't just go to Atlanta. I am in a hurry here. I have four children 13, 8, 4,and 3 years old. Thanks for considering

You've got to start at home,Dawn! Chicago - Chicago! LOL. Seriously, I hope you hit the western suburbs. Of course, I'd probably travel a reasonable distance to get you to sign a book, but we've got soooooo many Barnes & Noble here that I hope you get to at least one of them.
Congratulations on your book and upcoming tour!
Missouri would be great. Come to Columbia, Kansas City or St. Louis
Rochester NY! please!

I live in St Helens Oregon. We have a book store. If that is not big enough for you, Portland Oregon would be great. The best place is Powells Books.
I tried to find your book listed where I can buy it. WHERE IS IT???? I really want it!!!! NOW!!!! Okay now I'm just being childish. But really, where is it sold?
come a little bit south of Atlanta too.....right smack dab in the middle of the State!!! We have a new Barnes and Noble w/ the most awesome Starbucks.....and a great smoothie place close by.....
I can't read through a billion comments so I don't know if this has been said, but clearly you have to come to FL since your son is so fond of our state! :-) Come to Central Florida!
Vanessa
Rockwall, Texas, another Dallas 'burb. Or Mesquite or Garland, or . . . .or. . . .
Come on around to Youngstown, OH (or any place around us, Akron, Cleveland, Pittsburgh) and I will be there with everyone I know!!!
Fort Hood, TX pretty please?! It's a military post and there are so many mommies squished in here together that there've got to be at least a thousand readers just here on post!! If not, my closest big city is Austin, TX which I assume is where you'll probably go. Either way I'll be there book in hand.
Oh, please come to Fresno, California.
Grand Rapids Michigan!!! There is even a children's museum here for the kids to check out and don't forget the beautiful sandy shores of Lake Michigan is only a 30 min drive.
Sing with me now...
OOOOOOOOOK-lahoma where the authors come to sign their books!
Seriously, this is the only State with a spelling lesson in its State Song. We have an Arts Festival going on Downtown... Today!
I would bet we could get you a table at Books-A-Million, or any number of other choices. Oh, I would so come help you, show you around town, bring you coffee. I could set you up at my favorite non-Starbucks location, too.
Sharing these ideas with the Publisher? Cool stuff. Love your thoughts, keep them coming!
I am in the process of moving. I vote for Memphis, TN, Little Rock AR or Tulsa OK.
I will be near one of them at some point! ;)
Texas, Houston Area. There are very few book stores near my home- 42 miles NW of Houston, but I'd be willing to travel any where in Houston to get a signing from you so that you were not sitting alone fiddling your thumbs:)
Jenny in TX
NY - and not just the city! Come to Rye - there's a great amusement park there - it's the one from Big (when he makes his wish to get bigger again). If Rye is too small then go to the Westchester Mall in White Plains.
i live north of houston in the woodlands, tx and feel sure you could get a crowd around here.
there's a bookstore in my church and who knows, maybe they'd do a big ladies event or something. that wouldn't be lonely. maybe they'd even have childcare available for those who attend and you too up in the gamerooms. i am not an event planner, but have your agent check into it (fellowship of the woodlands in the woodlands, tx. i think the contact person would be lisa reeves or patti lis)
Another for Salem, Oregon!
AUSTIN, TX - I would TOTALLY come get a signed copy from you!!! I laughed so hard I cried when I read your Pokemon listing on ebay!!! :o) Kim Lanicek, kimlooney at yahoo dot com
Treasure Coast Mall in Jensen Beach FL! We'll support you!
Layton, Utah
Except I might be in Georgia on vacation, so South Georgia, Valdosta area. If they even have bookstores there. LOL
Pittsburgh, PA- near the airport preferably. How in the world are you going to travel alone with 6 kids? Around the country no less. You amaze me. You should ask your publisher for a travel nanny to come with you.
Anywhere in Oregon and I'll come see you - Portland is SIX HOURS AWAY - and I would still make the drive to see a "relative."
I'm in Cedar Rapids, IA! I would love to come to your book signing!
Pittsburgh, PA!
Please....Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL. I live in Oxford, Alabama which is about half way between the two on I-20, so either would be great. Can't wait to meet you and the kids.
Jacksonville, FL or Savannah, GA! I live between both and would travel either way to see you!
HUNTSVILLE, AL
Darn, I was afraid I'd be the only one posting in my area :o( I'll let you sign lots of books for me though!
St. Louis please!
Panama City, FL - you know you have to be loyal to Austin's postcard groupies.
Indianapolis!
Come to Alamogordo New Mexico. There's not much here but I would get everyone I know to come to your signing! Or even El Paso Texas, it's not too far away so I could make it over there with a few days notice.
I am in Iowa but I would go to Omaha, Twin Cities or Kansas City for your tour!!
Can't wait for the book!!!!!!!!
Please come to Sandy, (Salt Lake City) Utah. You have made me laugh out loud soooo many times. Have to get your book!!!
Haven't you always wanted to visit Albany, NY? No? Well, come anyway. Or if you feel like betting on the horses, we've got a Borders AND a B&N right here in Saratoga Springs (further from the airport, closer to my home)!

Please come to Indianapolis Indiana!
Okay. I know a few have already said San Antonio, TX but SA is really big. If you make over this way, please consider the area where Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are located. You and the kids would have loads of fun and , of course, it's the area where I live. :)
I vote for Grand Rapids, MI. But if you end up in a bookstore somewhere around Detroit (I vote for Novi), I may stop by;-)
Dayton, OH! Beavercreek, actually. Most of my friends have at least 4 kids, so we could fill up your book signing easily! If that doesn't work we'll catch up with you when we visit family in Carol Stream.
Tina

Silver Spring, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. Full of bewildered tourists much of the year, most apparent in the late Spring and through Summer.
Nate's Mom
Albuquerque, NM! I'll be there! Joann
I seriously doubt you're going to have any trouble with getting people to show up at book signings. :) BUT, you should put Arlington, Texas on the list. Usually everyone goes to Dallas but I can't get out that way and I hate driving in Dallas. It's too scary.
Well I live in Britt MN. We barely make a dot on the map. My mom is the one who turned me on to your blog. She lives in Virginia MN. The closest big city area is about an hour away in Duluth MN. We would love to see you in our area but we would be willing to drive the hour to Duluth if need be.
Dallas TX!!!! I promise to bring lots of friends...and my kids, so yours won't be the only ones acting up!!
Come to Memphis or Nashville! I live in Memphis but I'm willing to drive that far to see you. I would definitely wait in a crowded line to get your autograph, girl! You rock!
~Shirley Ann~
Danville, KY which is south of Lexington. Course, you will probably want to go to bigger towns, so if you were to go to Lexington...I'll come to you!
Hi Dawn - I've been reading your blog since the ebay listing. I'm in Northern New Jersey.
The Rockaway NJ Borders would be a great place to meet you and your kids!
Geez, took like 6 months to get through the comments....
Shout out from CEDAR HILL, TEXAS!!!
I'll cook you some yummie Mexican food if ya want! We are just outside of Dallas, but you have to come to CEDAR HILL. It's soooo worth it! Anyway, Gracias in Advance!
Englewood, CO (south of Denver), and there's a great bookstore called The Tattered Cover that's right near my house! I'll bring my 2 year-old to keep Brooklyn occupied...:-)
Sacramento or San Francisco either one would be great!! :-)
Lake Charles, LA That would be so awesome.
How about coming to the Boston area...specifically south shore area!
Monrovia CA just east of Pasadena! We'll bring lots of friends - lot's of great bookstores there in Pasadena!
Come to Cincinnati, OH, PLEASE!!
I'm throwing another vote in for Columbus, Ohio or the surrounding areas. There's a ton of bookstores for you to choose from. i can actually think of at least 5 barnes and nobles' in the area that I can get to within 20 mins or less.
Cortlandt Manor, Northern Westchester, New York
Torrance, Torrance, Torrance, CA!! To be honest/frank, if you come to LA, or most anywhere in Southern California, I will be making the trip!! :D But, you know, the closer to my house you are, the more likely it is that I'll get there on time and actually get to see you and not just smell your dust since you left before I managed to get there!
Huggles!!
~Sarah~
Well along with the 688 people who will beg for your autograph, if you come to Sacramento, Ca maybe your celeb status can get you a visit with Gov. Arnold...if not I still think you should do it for my mom, 2 aunts, 3 cousins and me who will glady stand in line with all our darlings and tell everyone it was our kids who pulled the alarm and took over the light switches.
Las Vegas!!!
Make the signing in the afternoon. Take the kids to an indoor jump place first and make them jump and slide till theyre exhausted and then things might go a little smoother at the signing? Im only one vote but Im part of a 40 member playgroup so I'll make some of them come too. And then all our kids can create utter pandemonium.
And of course Vegas always has a good place or two to get refreshments afterwards.
Come to Dallas, Tx.We have great food and margaritas!
Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Come to Omaha!
Oak Forest, Ill and we would love to see you here
We would love to have you in Oak Forest, Ill.
Hey! I don't know if you'll be on the West Coast at all, but if you get to San Diego I'll come! I LOVE your blog, hope to be able to get your book and would LOVE to get to meet you and your kids! :) GOOD LUCK!!
Raleigh, North Carolina please!
There's a Barnes and Noble right off Hwy 540....
Ditto on Detroit Metro area for me. :)
SALT LAKE CITY!
(and we have about a million bookstores for you to choose from!)
Hey, Dawn. I'm in Valdosta, GA. We're 18 miles north of FL. We have one Christian bookstore, The Potter's House, and it's a fun place to go...In fact, the Christian author, Beverly Lewis was there this week for a book signing, but my sleeping toddler prevented my attendance. ;)
You could visit a Beautiful small town in Iuka, MS....But in reality, you probably won't have time, so we could meet you in Memphis, TN or Huntsville, AL??
You're going to be one Travelin' momma!! Have fun and congrats!
Ditto to all the people from San Antonio! And you don't really know what hot is until you come down to TX in August! So bring your book, a tank-top and flip flops and enjoy some 110 degree weather with us!
I would love to see you in Pittsburgh! Especially on the airport side of the city. ;)
ORLANDO PLEASE
I know you were *just* here, but please come back on the tour!!!
NORTH ATLANTA, GA!!!!
Okay - so I didnt' read through all 705 comments - but I've got another vote for Connecticut. I live near Waterbury but would travel anywhere in the state - it's small enough - if you were to do a book signing here!!!!
wooo! hooo!
There's a Barnes and Noble and a Borders books store in Rochester Hills, MI
I will definately show up and buy a book if you plan a stop there.
Cleveland, Ohio!!!! I'd love it if you came to Cleveland - maybe the Borders or Barnes and Noble at Crocker Park?
If you come to the St. Louis, MO area (especially the IL side with Borders and B&N I and a lot of friends would love to meet you. You are hilarious! I check your blog and DH is always asking what I'm laughing at. :o)
I ditto every other person who lives in D/FW. I really hope you are coming to Dallas, although, selfishly, I'd really rather you come to Fort Worth, NOT Dallas! (it's sooo much better west of the airport!) I detest driving in Dallas, but...I'd do it just to see you and to have you sign your book for me...
Susan B in TX
I am local. I am in Des Plaines, so whichever local book store you are doing, I will come! I love reading, but rarely comment. Can't wait to read the book!
Carrollton, TX (suburban living close to Dallas)
I read your blog in my googlereader so I rarely comment, but if you come to Nashville, TN I'd definitely be there! :) Can't wait to buy your book, nonetheless. Love your blog!
Please come to Jacksonville, Florida. I would definitely come see you! I'll even bring my kids! Hope to see you then! I can't wait for your book :)
BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON! I'd even be willing to travel as far south as SEATTLE or north to VANCOUVER, BC if its timed right so I don't have to work.
Come visit me in St. Louis, Missouri. Or actually St. Charles would be much better (a suburb).
I can tell ya right now, me and my 5 heathens would come and see ya in a heartbeat. My two oldest (both 13 a girl and a boy) think you are the funniest thing ever. So... when will be here?
:D
