Achoo!

I know I haven't been updating much, but I have a very good reason. I've been sick, sick, sick. Fever, achy, snot-nose, yuckness. I'm finally much better and only have a cough left at this point. This morning, as I was waiting for my computer to turn on, I reached for a tissue (the box has been sitting right next to my computer for the past few days because I'm constantly using them) and saw writing on the box. I picked it up and looked a little more closely. Savannah had taken a marker and written me a note all over the Puffs box! I just had to share because I thought it was sweet and the note was so sillly, I could just "hear" Savannah rambling on, saying these words to me. It made me smile this morning. :)

Hello Mom,

If you're reading this, you're probably using a kleenex so your nose is all runny. I'm sorry. Well, I hope you have a good blowing of your nose cause if you don't want to be sick anymore, you need to blow your nose and I'm keeping you company cause you're reading this and it's sort of like me talking to you, so technically I'm talking to you and keeping you company! Hopefully, as you're reading this, it's making you feel better! 8) I LOVE YOU MOMMY!

P.S. Thank you for helping me buy my iPod! Hopefully it gets here soon.

LOL! I LOVE it when my kids do something sweet and unexpected like that. And Savannah has been saving for an iPod for a while. She got some money for her birthday that she put toward her iPod fund. She was a few dollars short, so I kicked in to help her get it. Now she's been anxiously checking the mail for it.

Waddaya know! Being a mom isn't always a thankless job after all. It gives me hope that my little ones will grow to be just as thoughtful.

My nearly 6 year old son does this. He has this uncanny ability to just KNOW when I'm the most frustrated with him, and what I'll be digging through when that feeling hits, and he'll have some little "lurv" note buried under what it is that I'm looking through. And he spells it, "I lurv you Momma!" which is just the way he says it! Too cute! I DO hope you'll be saving that tissue box! I know I would!

Awww, what a sweetie! Gotta love kids like this. Sorry you've been sick though -- and I hope hope you're feeing better soon. Especially since your preschool is over, right?

And has your website always been "the official site of ..." or is this new? Are people trying to create fake Dawn sites?

That is so sweet!! The other day when I had such a bad migraine is making me get sick my 7 year old brought me the "puke pan" and told me I would not have to get up anymore and that when I got sick he would rinse it out for me!!!! That totally made me smile! That and he helped take care of his little brother and sister till their dad got home. The made a get better and better card and brought me each their favorite toy to help me feel better!! It was so sweet!

Hey Dawn,

I was just wondering if your blog visits have increased due to you using short feeds now. (When you only send a paragraph of the post to the feed, and then you have to click on it to read the rest on the blog).

I had a similar thing, lately!

My daughter uses my Bible for our at-home Bible studies, and last weekend at church I ran across soemthing: a little "love you mom" in the margin. I started crying in church, and actually had to leave so I could wipe my eyes and blow my nose! I flipped through my Bible more carefully and found another "love you mom," as well as a "cool mom!" Those little unexpected love notes touched me so much, as I know Savannah's jots meant so much to you!

being a mom is so crazy--I have some wild boys, too--but aren't we blessed?!
