More Markers???

I was without phone and internet yesterday (thank you very much AT&T) and I still have to plan out my Sunday school lesson. What? I still have 12 hours until Sunday school. Plenty of time. Anyway, after sitting out in the freezing rain at my kids' baseball games today, I'm beat. Too tired to post tonight. But here are a few other Mother's Day ideas....

You can send Mom or Grandma or Aunt or your friends or your sisters (or all of the above!) a FREE e-card here. Let your loved ones know you're thinking of them.

Need some more creative gift ideas? Someone Spoil Me has compiled a list with tons of ideas here!
Or you can give Mom a big pile, of sunny, yellow dandelions. That's what I got from Brooklyn today! :)

Finally, what is it with my kids and markers??? After his bath, he still has a faint blue mustache. That's great. He'll look like Hitler at church tomorrow.

You still have until Wednesday to enter the Lands' End giveaway here.

Your marker photo reminds me of my "Tape it Up" post several years ago!

I taught JStreet (1-3rd grade Sunday School) last week and downloaded the lesson 1 hr. before I went. Big mistake. Luckily, Jesus still loves me :-)

Cute picture!
Is he one of them that likes to sniff markers?? LOL

My Mothers Day wish is for a whole day of no fighting. Sadly, if my hubby can't pick it up at Wal-Mart, I probably won't get it.

I hate to tell you, but there's nothing FAINT about remaining marker...
:o)

FYI Kidology.org has some great ideas for Sunday School lessons if you need something last minute, or if your published curriculum needs some boosting. They have lots of free stuff, but if your church gets a subscription, you can see more stuff. It doesn't cost a lot.

Like the blue mustache. My 4 year old grand-daughter drew a big handlebar mustache on her face. We thought we got it all off until the next day when she cried and blue snot came running out. Of course, we were in a restaurant at the time!!

I know this is weird and I should have told you a long time ago. My kids are competitive swimmers. The coaches right their event numbers on their arms in permanent marker before a race. It comes off with toothpaste.

Just make sure to teach him the proper salute.

Two words...washable markers. I've thrown all of the other ones away.

Ummm...you could take the marker into your own hands and make the mustache into more of a Snidely Whiplash sort of thing... ;-)

Would it be a bad idea to get the marker and create a Fumanchu? Haha at least it would be better than Hitler. Ok, I'm kidding, but I, too, have to hide markers from my kids. My mother continues to buy them, and I hide them immediately. I'll have quite the collection by the time the kids are old enough to use them? Maybe when they are 15??

Yes, the other afternoon it was ominously quiet where my 4 yr old and 2 1/2 yr old were downstairs. I came down to find that they were buck naked, drawing on each other (with the few markers that are NOT washable Crayolas). They had long lines down all their limbs, and stripes on their chests. "Look Mommy!" Littleman pipes up, "I'm a skeleton man!"

3 baths later, skeleton man yet remains.

E-Cards are great. We have a grandmother who lives far away that is always sending e-cards to our 5 kids. They are animated and the kids get a kick out of them.

Markers and kids...must be a right of passage thing. My kids lose the privilege of markers almost every time they use them. Must be something so enticing and creative about using their bodies as a canvas vs the paper that is laying in front of them that inspires them to decorate themselves instead of the paper.

That's why I never, EVER buy anything but washable markers!

My kids did the same thing, but with black sharpies. I stored them up high, but they climbed on top of the desk chair to get them while I was in the shower. Of course, we had about 20 minutes to get to my husband's promotion ceremony, where we would be near the center of attention, and we had black mustaches, squiggles and "h"'s (my 4 yr old was real proud of those "h"'s. Anyway, through trial and error we found rubbing alcohol fades them pretty well. Good luck!

If the coloring on your face with markers thing is a rite of passage, have your kids ever participated in the other rite, cutting their own hair with scissors?

Dawn, it is great to read that someone else feels the same way that I do about swimsuits. I think anything with SPANDEX should be a four-letter word, don't you??
As for the markers, I hope the Hitler 'stache fades soon. I have survived worse with my daughter.
If by some miraculous chance I should win your Land's End drawing, I promise to try my swim suit on at home too.
Keep the laughs coming!! We love your Blog here.
