Overwhelming Email from the Globe!

Remember when I had 500 hits to this blog in one day? :::sigh::: Yep, those were the good ole days. Today I've had almost 11,000 and the number is still climbing. No, that's not a typo. ALMOST ELEVEN THOUSAND! Yesterday I felt so popular and loved. Today, I'm sitting here, staring at this screen, glazed expression on my face, drooling, sweating and starting to hyperventilate.

I so wanted to reply to each and every comment because first off, you took the time to write and I appreciate it. And secondly, there were some really wonderful, humorous comments in there. However, I can't even keep up reading all the comments, let alone replying to them. I've had over 1000 comments on this auction. They're literally filling my box faster than I can read them (and I'm a speedy reader!) What this means is - there are a whole lot of people out there who can relate to the trials and tribulations and joys of motherhood! We're not alone! In fact, there are so many of us, we may be able to take over the world if we play our cards right. ;)

A couple people suggested I post some of the comments on here and I think it's a wonderful idea! Give me a couple days *read a year and a half* to compile a list and check back for them. In case you're interested, I've had visits from the following countries...

Whew! It's like I'm an announcer for the Olympics!

About a million people have asked me how to subscribe to my blog. I have NO idea! I'm completely computer stupid. If anyone has a clue, I'd be much obliged if you could clue me in.

So many of you have made wonderful comments on my blog as well. I'm trying to put them all on here. I want to return the favors and visit your blogs and websites too. I'm a little inundated right now, but will make every effort to do so in the next couple weeks.

I took my daughter to the doctor this morning and was all prepared to come home and post about my visit to the doctor when I logged on to a billion pieces of mail. (Notice the numbers keep climbing?) :D Anyway, that one will have to wait.

Thank you again to everyone who has read, commented, and passed this on to friends!

I posted a link to your blog on my blog too. Your writing cracks me up. Can't wait to read some of your previous posts! We may start having capacity issues on blogspot because of you! Seriously as I was blogging tonight I realized it's much slower and I've been having to refresh and retry alot. I think your blog is creating a traffic jam! You'll have that book deal before you know it!

A message board had a link to your eBay posting which lead me here. I'm going to have to be careful or I'll be reading here rather than doing work. :)

I saw a link to your ebay auction and thought your description was downright hilarious. I can somewhat relate - I have four kids (14,10,8,6)....although I no longer have to bring them shopping with me because I can go when they are in school or my oldest can now stay home with them.

I then saw your link to your blog - and I got sidetracked here for HOURS this afternoon. I just love reading your entries - you have such a way with words - and your sense of humour - well I can just tell that I would really like you if I knew you IRL.

I have subscribed (not sure if that is the right term)...but I Have added to my list of blogs I read on my blog.

BTW - I can't believe that list of countries for your visitors!!!! You get around LOL!

About how to subscribe to your blog, they probably need a RSS reader of some sort (Google Reader - google.com/reader - is a good online one).

Then they click "Add feed" (or something like that) and enter the url of your RSS feed, which is

I just read your eBay auction description via a student-run blog for my university here in HI (www.fortstreetpulse.com).
I think that was absolutely the hardest I've laughed all day, and brought back memories of grocery shopping lectures I got from my own mom.

I just have to say, i read your story on eBay, and I laughed hysterically! I've been a writer my whole life, and I've learned that for most people, it either comes naturally or not, and for you it does. I'm begging you to continue with you stories, fictional or narrative. Talent like yours shouldn't go to waste! I hope someday i can read some more about you and your comical clan. good luck, and congratulations on the success of your story.

I found your ebay ad through a link in a forum, then followed the clues to your blog.

You make my zoo of a household sound so normal. I love it!

After reading your blog I have come to realise that the mess and disasters are apart of this never ending, thankless job and it made me feel so much better (Although it could have been my happy pills kicking in for the day).

Hello, I found your blog through your eBay auction. You're very charming and seem to be very practical!
Usually when I see someone with six kids, I think to myself "oh boy, you should have given up after 2 or 3!" But I certainly can not be the judge of anyone. Especially me, who has sworn off ever having children at the age of 11 ten years ago! Good luck, I hope this blog will bring you many more successes.

Being a 19 year old semi-not-so-really adult, i find your blog hilarious! Earlier today I sat here reading every single post (quite like a stalker) and could not keep myself from laughing hysterically. Thank you for the entertainment and I hope to see more of the same for however long you keep updating!

I grew up with 5 siblings, but I love your blog because you find humor in all of the crazy family antics. As a Mom of young children, I appreciate your willingness to admit your lack of control over your 6 pack. I have only 2, and I'm out numbered already! I'm rooting for you, & thanks for the good cheer! -Peggy

I am from Pakistan.

I came across your blog via the ebay listing via Reddit. Your blog cracks me up.

My brother and I used to do some mad things like locking our servants (Yes, in Pakistan domestic help is cheap and almost everyone who can afford it has maids and drivers-so I guess my mother had some help with the house and cleaning up etc.) in their rooms in the far side of the house for hours. As for using our crayons to draw on walls. My mother eventually got so tired that she allowed us to draw on walls ONLY if it was in our own room. Our room was filled with huge drawings of Ninja Turtles, Transformers and Thundercats. I got potty trained after ages, and I often shat whenever I felt like and would be comfortable roaming around with turds in my underwear. Until the smell gave me away or something. I used to be wary of dogs when I was carrying my turds in my underwear because they had this bad habit of smelling it out quickly and poke their noses in my butts. Once I got lost in a huge clothes boutique and was discovered in the middle of a clothing display where beautiful designer dresses were hanging taking a dump and smearing it over clothes in the process. Yes, my mother had to pay for all the expensive clothes as well as suffer the embarrassment of not having a potty trained 7 year old.

I just read all this again. Am I obsessed with human excrement? Oh well!

Anyway, since my mother is completely computer illiterate. I am going to make her read this and then get her to tell me stories of our childhood and maybe start posting them on a blog.

Your blog is very humorous and you have a talent which should not be wasted. Surely, if thousands of people can read and enjoy this, you can't go wrong.

Good luck with everything!

Your ebay auction was quite possibly one of the most hilarious finds I've ever found while surfing digg.com.
Well worth reading the novel of a description on ebay. And the 2 1/2 hours I've spent reading all of your blog posts thus far.

I swear only 2 hours ago you only had 31 bids, and now 41. 79.88 for a plain ol' pack of Pokemon cards, I'm sure it is well deserved.

p.s I never read blogs, but I now have you bookmarked. Guess I better start.

Thing is, most people from Digg and Reddit disappear after about a day or two, it'll slow down and stop. Diggers are notoriously lazy about reading things, but the Pokemon story is killing, at least you're making a good profit on them. The internet is weird. Hmm, back to Final Fantasy.

All I can say is THANK YOU for the laughs! I can't tell you how many blogs/websites I come across a day, where it starts out interesting, and just slowly dies out, and I give up trying to read them. :) Your blog, on the other hand...well, I sat down and just finished reading it! (...maybe the tiniest bit stalker-like, but I'm unashamed! :) )
I've never had the "big family" experience. Our family is comprised of just the 4 of us: Mom, Dad, Me (16) and my brother (14) so it's relatively quiet now in our home now that we're somewhat grown-up :).Reading your blog has allowed me to get a feel for the big-family-life and all the trials and tribulations associated with it! :) I remember when he (because obviously I never did anything wrong...*coughcough*) would just do things, just for the satisfaction of making our poor mother pull her hair out in frustration. And that was just the 2 of us! Seriously, you get points at life for all the work you do! WELL DONE! Keep up the good work with your kids, and keep on blogging! I'll be reading, for sure!

Your listing on ebay had me smiling all the way through. I'm a mother of 7 and like you, detest cream of ketchup soup almost as much as I hate grocery shopping and the well-meant (if half-stunned) questions of "are they all yours!?". What moves people to ask that is beyond me.

Great ebay posting :-)

I was one of the earlier bidders--I just had to bid when a friend e-mailed me the link. All I wanted to do was bump your price up a little bit, and then I was high bidder. I rarely laugh out loud, but your listing had me nearly rolling on the floor. Those are six lucky kids, to have such a smart and witty mama.

Your E-Bay auction won my heart, and made me laugh. The entire time, I was nodding my head and laughing because I know exactly what you're going through. And I only have half the brood. "Wow, you have THREE GIRLS?" Yes, they're all in pink. "HA HA I bet you wished you had bought stock in Tampax!" Um, no, I don't. "Awwww your poor husband, outnumbered!" Well, yeah, but he's not poor, he's in heaven with three princesses. "So are ya gonna try for that boy? Or are you finally done?" What boy? Oh, you mean the boy you think I wanted instead of the beautiful girl children that I have now. No, we're not crazy. We wanted 3 children, we have 3 children.

Anyway, you're awesome. And I hope you don't mind, but I linked your blog in my own. If you'd like me to take it down, just let me know!

Anyway, your grocery day made me say an extra prayer of thanks for a responsible 16 year old son with whom I leave the children with to go grocery shopping. In fact, a trip to BJ's with no kids is like date night for my husband and I. How sad.... but you take what you can get, huh? :) God bless.

Why must people feel the need to ask if they are all mine? And no, I do not have lots of helpers! You take them for a day and see just how helpful they really are!

Yes, thanks for the laughs. My 10 are now in various stages of having their own child chaos experiences. Those years with little ones are stressful, funny, exasperating, wonderful and horrible. Now, after losing my wife, I have ten best friends. It's worth it. It would be worth it with one, or two or any number, but I feel extremely blessed with ten wonderful adults to share my life with, and grandchildren to remind me of some of the fun of those early years. Thanks for reminding me of $500 Costco shopping adventures.

Ok , so I will add to your plethra of comments. :) Don't worry about responding as I know you won't have time. I just wanted to say thanks for the laughs and putting everything into a lighter perspective. I have 5 boys (ages 7, 6, 4, 3, 18 mo) and the next one is due in Feb. I am with you on the chaotic days. I wanted to invite you to a forum board called MOMYS. It stands for Moms Of Many Young Siblings, and most of us there have anywhere from 4-12 (or more) kids. Hope to see you around. BTW my screen name on MOMYS is Mom2ztsle in case you do want to come check us out. :) Continue having a blessed time with your kids, no matter how crazy it gets!

My MIL forwarded me your ebay auction with a subject line of, "Sound familiar?" ;) I also have 6 (aged 8mos - 9 yrs), and you made me feel VERY lucky that mine only act like that at home!

I just subscribed to your blog with Google Reader. Very easy to do and it constantly checks all the blogs I read and lets me know when someone has added to their blogs!

Wow. Im exhausted reading that, and I only have 3 kids.

WHen baby 3 came along, I stomped my foot down HARD on hubby and made it law that I would NEVER EVER take all 3 kids to the store.

You are a brave brave woman. I bow down to you.

Hi there! :) I'm Lisanne over at Bathtub Junkie ~ mom to Lucas (2.5 years old) and Meredith (turning one this Halloween). I *loved* your eBay auction and hope that you get a *loooooot* of money to go grocery shopping with next time! :) I broke down into tears once in Super Wal-Mart when I was 400 months pregnant with our daughter and my toddler son was being a BEAR! hehe :) I can *so* relate. Best wishes! I'm adding you to my BR list.

I just read your auction and laughed until it hurt. Great writing!

Someone posted a link to your ebay item from their blog, which is how I found you. You deserve to cash in on your shopping experience! (I'm not a bidder, but I wish you well.)

And your pictures are a hoot--they look like the same era as my pictures, which I will NOT be posting on the internet! I wore outfits of similar vintage and endured puke-green carpet and awful decor too, so I suspect we are a similar age that I will not specify *smile.*

Thanks for the smiles today.

I found your blog through your riotously hilarious eBay listing which has now been posted in the Etsy forums just because it's so darn funny. I was glad to find your blog just as amusing as your eBay listing.
I feel for you, I don't even know what to say! But I'm glad you are able to look back and have a laugh at your kids' behavior. I'm scared to have even a SECOND kid because I don't know what the heck I'd do with them in the store! Oy. I've been to that Target on Randall Rd and I don't want my kids being one of their meat-poking lunatics. (Even though I know I'd love them all the same!)
Thanks for brightening my day!

No need to reply, I can see you are busy, I just wanted to say that reading your ebay listing and now your blog has been the highlight of my day. Considering I have to clean the house, do the laundry, and go to the gyn before my two boys come home and ask for dinner it may be the only highlight I have today. So thanks!

Sorry to add to your e-mail that you are getting (congrats btw, you may not like it now, but it is really cool! LOL) but I just wanted to tell you, I got a google group, for people who wanted to subscribe to my blog. Then I put the e-mail address to the group, in the section of blogger, where it says it will e-mail to the address you put in the box. That way people can sign up for the group, if they want to get your entries in their e-mail. Course I also made it so people can't e-mail through the group, because I couldn't handle anymore e-mail myself! LOL Good luck, sorting through all of your e-mails!!! :)

I hope great things happen for you as a result of this auction. I really enjoyed it and particularly identified with walking around the store with a toddler's spit out samples in my hand, hunting for a trash for ever, pushing the cart with one hand. Too funny.

Hi - I saw your auction on ebay ... you're awesome! I only have 1 child and the grocery store might as well be the 5th ring of hell ... to do it with six and return home will all of them still living is truly an accomplishment. Sometimes people forget that what it takes to make a truly spectacular mommy ... love, patience, self sacrifice, commitment and of course a sense of humor.

Thanks for your wit and for giving me something to think about the next time I am at the store!

Thanks for the laughs! I found your EBAY ad via a link on a multiples message board I frequent. As a mom to twin 4 year old boys, I can relate to much of your grocery store visit. We also have a pre-shopping lecture (which gets longer each visit), and I've come home several times now with boxes of crap I had no idea I purchased. And why are they so fascinated with pushing on the meat packages? Anyway, I'm definitely going to keep following your blog, and I really hope you consider writing a book. Seems you've touched a lot of people with your writing.

Another comment from Israel ... your eBay posting (the Pokemon cards) just knocked me off my chair. Am feeling so much better now ... thanks.

Am thinking to send your stuff to my husband. He thinks my "stories" of time with the kids, etc., is all (a) my imagination or (b) because of some parenting knowledge that I'm missing. Nah. He'll probably just figure you've got the same imagination or need to learn the same stuff I do.

Sending you huge quantities of strength energy and light ...

hey...I read your, um blog i guess, concerning the pokemon cards and speaking as a 16yr old $40 for 44 cards is cheap. The (shiny) holographic one is probably worth $5-30, maybe even more, all on its own. I had a price manual, but I'm not sure if I still do, however if you know the name of "shiny" card I can try to find out for you just how much you could have made. And if that happens again and you let me know maybe I can help you w/decifering prices...lol...

Your "shopping story" had me in stitches as it was so funny, but I guess it was not at the time for you.

Well at least you've gained something from that shopping trip, in addition to the new grey hair, and stress lines caused by shopping with your children!

Found your blog via a link to your Ebay auction (which was posted on a Mums group I go on called "FunMums") and I just followed it from there to your blog here. Know quite a few of the others on there have also checked out your site, and you've made us laugh with your children antics, and some nodding in agreement/sympathy too!

Hope to hear more from you, as you tell the true story of "trying to stay sane whilst bringing up children"!!

There are 6 of us as well. And reading your stories brings back HUGE flash backs. One of the classics is my four brothers peeing out of the 4 car windows at the same time, when my mom went into the store for a quick something (back in the 70's). She came out and about DIED of humiliation that her 'brood' was "at it again!" Love YOUR stories!
