FIVE HUNDRED!!!

I've had nearly 500 people look at my blog today. Almost FIVE HUNDRED!!! Up until yesterday, my mom was pretty much the only one who read this. It's really cool to have so many people reading my nonsense. I feel like the 90 pound, blue-eyed, blond cheerleader who dates the quarterback and stands at the top of the pyramid. Ever so popular.

However, do you have any idea how much pressure this puts on me?! I'm hyperventilating, thinking that I'll never come up with another funny thing to say as long as I live.
As I typed that last sentence, my 3 year old walked by sporting a Stitch costume (from Lilo and Stitch), a pink, cone shaped princess hat, a Darth Vader mask, and a light saber. (The kids were bored and got into the Halloween box.) OK, :::deep breath::: I might just be able to come up with a few more funny things about which to write after all.

Your blog has had me in stitches for the past hour or so! I have read every entry! Wow! I just sounded like a stalker! I did just want to let you know that the reason I found your blog is simply because I am on a million Gymboree clothing yahoo groups with a million other mothers and someone posted your ebay auction. I, along with a million other moms, clicked that link and checked it out. Somewhere along the line one out of the million realized that there was a link to your blog and shared with the other mothers and VOILA~~~ there you were. Thank you so much for posting all of these things. I needed a good laugh. I myself only have 3 children and I have a hard enough time. My FAVORITE saying is "It's 5 O'Clock somewhere" I would like to shake the hand of the person who wrote that..... I applaud your efforts in amusing the rest of us moms who think all of this but are not creative enough to actually word it! You are my new HERO! LOL

I KNOW! I've still got another 20 to post! Crazy! I'm going to print out all these comments and read them on days when I feel like jumping off a bridge.
I can live on these for a year!

You have such a writing talent! You are so funny! I would not doubt if you could get a book deal with this material. You are like a modern day Erma Bombeck! HILARIOUS! I am the youngest of 8 so I totally remember all the insane moments we caused my mom. Now as a mom of 2, I have no idea how she did it! KUDOS TO YOU!!! You have been blessed with a wonderful talent!

I love the picture! Looks like you'll have plenty of material - and just when your kids are out of the house, you'll have the antics of grandkids.

You are awsome. I love your attitude. I have three daughters. One of which is very spirited and keeps me on my toes. She is only two. Two year olds should not be smarter then a 31 year old mother. And yet, when I need a babyproofed bottle opened, I can go to her.

Your attitude and your writings are hilarious and allow me to laugh at my own life and maybe enjoy it a bit more.

Thanks!

I love it! You are hilarious and I think it's AWESOME that your ebay auction is up to $53 for some "sneaked in" Pokemon cards! :)

love the costume! I found your blog because someone over at "The well-trained mind" boards (homeschool forum) linked to your ebay auction. I had to check out your blog after that, been there done that with the supermarket thing...I had to comment because I know it is somewhat a let down to have a zillion people visit you and to have only a handful comment.

I am enjoying your blog, you really are making me laugh, loved all the photos of you as a child!

I think I just met the new Irma Baumback. How much fun you must be as both a Mom and friend. (Or do you have time for friends?)

Oh wow, we must be the same age because I have plenty of pictures of myself in outfits that look just like yours! Oh, those polyester, plaid, awful clothes!

Thanks for the hilarious pictures and comments. My son asked me why I was laughing out loud and I had to tell him that he wouldn't understand, it was a "mom thing"

LOVE the picture.

I have five boys. Two are adults, the remaining 3 (ages 12, 9, and 5) ALL have ADHD, which means I have three little boys to the factor of 10--and the five year old is also gifted.

We save all our Halloween costumes and keep them accessible in a drawer just for the fun of pictures like that.

Looks like Stitch is eating Darth Vader's head...

Someone sent me a link so I came to visit. OMG, I'VE had that shopping trip - but with only one kid. I'm really efficient that way.

One of my girlfriends found you from the Ebay listing...You sooo crack me up!
And you keep me laughing! Tonight I made my husband sit down at the computer and had him read the listing for the Pokemon cards...he was cracking up...we then went through your blog entries and found more things that made our stomachs hurt from laughing. I feel like at I'm laughing at you, but honestly I laugh w/ you, because being a mom is something that all moms relate to.
Thanks again Dawn for making my stomach hurt, my eyes tear and my smile stretch as far as it could today...I have yet to stop!

This pic at the end of the Stitch Vader Princess made me laugh...so loud and so hard that it scared my three sleeping dogs. Awesome!

Kristi said...

Love the pic! My son has the same Stitch costume. And speaking of the Halloween box, my oldest son got into that today and got out a scary mask and about gave the little ones AND the dog a heartattack. I could just get that boy sometime! Your kids sound alot like mine and although I only have 3 they make it seem like I've got 6, LOL!
Your ebay auction is being sent around through e-mail and myspace now. That's how I found out about it. I laughed the whole way through...mainly because not only can I relate but some of those things have actually happened to me!
Look forward to reading more =)

You probably don't "have time" to read one more comment about how awesome your eBay auction and blog are!!! Well, I just had to...I just had to tell you that I am about to fall out of my chair! I took my TWO kids to the store today and folks thought I had MY hands full! LOL That little picture of Princess Stich Vader is still crackin' me up!! I have a link for you.
Blessings,
Jennifer
My blog is not nearly as interesting as yours. I don't take my ducks to the store with me.

Okay, I hate to even say it because I am repeating so many others, but your ebay post was hysterical! As a mom of 3 girls, aged 8, 6, and 3, I understand and think I would need to be committed if I had 3 more! God bless you, you have more patience than me!
My sister has identical twins that are almost 4, and then a 8 month old. She gets the "are they twins?" question all the time-- people can be so stupid sometimes! But sometimes I think people just can't think of anything clever to say.
I get "are they twins?" often too about my 2 older girls. My oldest girl is small for her age (still only 47 lbs at age 8!) and my middle girl is large for her age (she is 65-- and they are almost the same height.) Now it hardly seems odd these days, but I really wondered about people's intelligence when they were 3 and 1 yrs old. Hello, can you not tell that this one is a baby and the other ones is running around pulling things off the shelf???
I have to say that I laughed the loudest when I read your comments to the "questions" specifically the one about the diswashing liquid!! That is so my husband!
I also was amused by the homeschooling comment- I used to be a first grade teacher, pre-kids, and people ask me if I homeschool. I know that I would probably never actually educate my kids if I had to do it myself, and more than likely I would need many more medications than I am currently on!
Today was the first day of school for my older 2, and I did a dance of joy! Summer with my kids was like your posting, every day.... I hate shopping with all my kids.
I have bookmarked your blog so that you can continue to amuse me.
Ok, I have to say it even if it seems it has become cliche-- you should write a book.

I belong to multiple yahoogroups that are anywhere from scrapbooking to support for families of children with congenital heart defects.( my daughter was born with severe heart problems) I have seen your ebay auction mentioned on several of these groups! The most recent one listed your blog so I just had to come by to take a peek.

I love your wit and can empathize with you on soooooo many levels! I have 4 children and they love to keep my on my toes.

I absolutely love the photo you posted. Gotta love those kids!

HI, I thought it was safer to put a comment on this post where you only have 28 and since I'm probably reader number 999'999 at this stage ...

You have my deepest admiration for raring 6 kids - I feel overwhelmed with two (although they're somewhat easier now that they have reached 10 and 14) and I think I would slap everyone who asked me that stupid question - well, you know which one! It's funny but here in Switzerland people wouldn't dare ask you that, they would just stare at you in disbelief, maybe even shaking their head in disagreement.

Anyway, I like your sense of humor - in my opinion it's the best way to get one through the day - and I guess you found that out, too! hehe. I don't expect you to come by my blog - I think you'll be pretty busy for the next decade or so - but I'll pop by yours now and then if that's ok ... :)

My 2.5 year old just announced to me, as I'm reading this and he's checking out the pictures, that he wants to be that for Halloween...aka the Stitch costume! Thanks for the "suggestion"!

Keep up the great writing!

Today I was walking into work and thought...I have got to be the most unorganized craziest mom. I just can not get my stuff together.
I posted a comment on a mom's user group that I belong to titled 'Curious, Am I the only traveling freakshow?'
Turns out I'm not.
Awesome....I can totally relate. Thanks for making me laugh so hard I cried.

You are totally hilarious! My cheeks hurt, my sides ache and I only peed a little bit! I found you on GirlTalk and then read your ebay auction. I so get you!! Thank you for all of the laughter. My husband is starting to wonder why I am shaking over the keyboard....seizure?? Be blessed and keep on writing!!

I'm sorry, I just had to write - one of my co-workers sent me the link to your ebay auction and I laughed so hard I had an asthma attack - EMS nearly had to be called. I am the working mother of 2 children, ages 7 & 9, and I have NO idea how you manage with 6!!! I loved your description of the shopping trip as I have been there - I used to think that my name should be changed to "mommy can I..." and sometimes I have a tough time distinguishing my husband from the children. My son has a billion of those darn Pokemon cards and I wish I could sell them! Keep writing - you make those of us that think we are going to go insane while trying to raise children feel a lot more normal {whatver that it is!}. You really are my hero as well....anyone who can be the stay at home mom of more than one child deserves an award.
