Spelling Tests

Clay usually gets 100% on his spelling tests, however Clay capitalized every word on this test for some reason. His teacher corrected him and made him erase each capital letter. Then, because apparently I never outgrew my "attitude problem", I felt the need to correct his teacher. I just couldn't help myself. She'll probably retire so she doesn't get Brooklyn, and need to deal with me another year.

I would totally do this! You pretty much rock.

I mean Rock. ROCK. ALL CAPS!

And inappropriate punctuation!!!!!

I totally had a beef with Itty Bit's teacher when he wrote "my dad has a big trap" and she marked it as a wrong noun. Heck lady, he was dead right.

I love it! Being a spelling and grammar nut myself, I find this hilarious. :-)

That's great. Has Clay been tested for being gifted? With the time and energy it takes to do that sort of thing on a spelling, I wouldn't be surprised. Also, does he give handwriting lessons. My second grader messes stuff on his spelling test because his teacher can't decipher his letters.

See, I would want to do that and then would wimp out ;-). You're my hero!

Love it. Pity her whole "rant" also includes unnecessary capitalizations. Major fail to her for not noticing the February spelling and the capital "P" in spelling. Love your corrections, would love to see her reaction when she reads your comments.

I believe that if a teacher can't teach English with a sense of humor, he or she shouldn't be teaching AT ALL. So much arbitrary nit-picking...

Actually in the UK it would be considered that Clay is correct and the teacher is wrong in this instance.

Each new line or sentence has to commence with a Capital Letter! So for each line, he is writing one word which, by default, should begin with a Capital Letter.
