I'm a single mom of 3 girls
and 3 boys, trying to juggle
kids, work and laundry with
the help of God, family,
friends and wine (not
necessarily in that order)
Hey Dawn! I was at Lake Tahoe this past weekend, I happened to stumble across a wooden plate that read "Who are these kids and why are they calling me 'Mom'?!"
Do you have any wooden plates of the liking or would at the moment like one for your birthday?
My mother, who doesn't fully appreciated the gift of children, said to me in a mournful way, after I painted our hallway in white, that I would never be able to have a "nice" house.
Those children of mine run Hotwheels, dirty fingers, and play swords along my used-to-be white hallway walls.
Yes, mom is right. I'll never have a "nice" house. But I do have a happy home.
My Charming Kids Blog just had a post about sticky fingerprints and thought I'd share my comment that I had left there:
My family went to visit my mom and dad's home last year after they bought a newer house. My youngest put his sticky handprint on the window in the door. Shortly after that my son passed away in a tragic accident and to this day my mom has kept my son's hand print, which she has now covered up with a curtain (maybe to protect it), on her door. I purposely look at it everytime I go and it is comforting for me to see the evidence that my son, who is now in Heaven, was once there.
Just PLEASE tell me that's chocolate pudding, chocolate ice cream, chocolate anything... or even mud, but it's too "Non-mud colored" to be mud...
And Cheryl from up there ^^^ I, too have saved a teeny hand print from my son. Not because he's been ill, or has passed away, but because that time when he was just little, and the world was so new for him, flew by SO fast... and now he's all big, and stinky, and boy-like... LOL
