I'm a single mom of 3 girls
and 3 boys, trying to juggle
kids, work and laundry with
the help of God, family,
friends and wine (not
necessarily in that order)
That`s too funny. My second son used to sleep with MY shoes. I`d be looking for them and there he`d be, curled up in his bouncy chair, sound asleep with my shoes tucked under his arms.
Is that Blues Clues I see on her cute little boots? My two year old is obsessed with it, she asks to watch morning noon and night. Drives me crazy, I find myself humming lyrics to the songs at all hours... I'm sure you've been at it for years. Do you like Steve or Joe better? We are huge Steve fans here! :)
This photo reminds me of when we had foster children.....little boys 4 & 5, who were just delighted with their brand new tennis shoes from Walmart, because they came to our home with no shoes. When we went in to check on them and cover them up after they'd gone to sleep, they were holding their shoes just like that.
Awww very cute. My 2 y/o insist on sleeping with my books (you know the ones with hot and sexy vampires mmm action!!!) her jar of butt cream, a few clean diapers and 3 baby blankets. Since she is not my first I am not fithing it....heck she can have a cooked ham if she want as long as she stay in her bed!!!!
Those boots look a whole lot more cuddly than the plastic Polly Pocket and My Little Pony toys my daughter has slept with already. This is one battle that was definitely not worth fighting. Good for you!
All three of my kids wanted mommy and blanket and they usually got what they wanted. Now my 6 yr old has 21 webkinz, her blankee, coloring book, 3 pillows and mommy gets to wake her up in the morning. She is such a lucky girl. Brooklyn is adorable. You're such a lucky mommy.
Kids and their woobies! My now 14 year old used to sleep with a large plastic shovel. Yep. A shovel. You know, in case needed to dig up something... he was ready!
Definitely save this one for when Brooklyn is about 15 and you can share it with her friends... she will just love you for it! he he...
How are you all doing with the snow? Hating it yet???
I read through your blogger comments from 2 days ago... Austin is such a hoot. BTW Austin, I like pie too.
I have a picture of my baby (now 4y) sleeping with Baby's First Chainsaw (yes, a toy). He'd "helped" in the yard with a fallen tree and we'd found the toy among a bunch of handed down toy tools. They were inseparable for a while.
Dawn, I read about your plight trying to find a wii fit. Try checking Craigslist. Here in the DFW area people are trying to sell them left and right, some for pennies on the dollar. Anyway, just wanted to get that suggestion out to you.
I love it. With a first child, we maybe would not have let them sleep with boots. But after the first, you wanna sleep with boots, go right ahead. My son used to sleep with his hat on everynight.
When my daughter was a toddler I always took a moment to watch her sleep, she was so sweet and innocent looking (boy, are looks deceiving.) Then when she woke up and was her normal terrible self, I would pull out that innocent sleeping image and know she wasn't totally possessed yet! So I've come to the conclusion that kids looking so cute and adorable when they sleep is a defense mechanism. It keeps them alive when they're at their worst because we remember those cute sleeping moments and know the kids are not beyond hope.
Here is a Sunday Sound Out question. I have the same camera that you use. Do you use the automatic settings or do you use some of the manual adjustments? The only one that I have used is the one for low light.
Ok, Dawn. Where are your new sheets, comforter and other Linden Street things? I am supposing that Brooklyn is in your bed (don't they seem to sleep better in OUR beds?). I just hope you didn't bail out on treating yourself to the new bedroom decor. You so deserved it!
HA! A couple of days ago a friend and I were just talking about little ones taking the oddest things to bed with them. So many cars they can't get into the bed. Screwdrivers, sprockets, rulers...you name it.
Here's the pictures of her little guy...asleep with the laundry basket over his head.

Aww.... we all have the things we love. And as a parent, I can only shake my head at what the wee ones fall in love with. And do.
Mister Man's Thomas pillow, who had been named Rosie (but was still a boy) is now Tinkerbell (and still a boy).
She doesnt sleep with her eyes open this time!!!!
Is it chocolate or cookie crumbs on her face? :)

A Little Mermaid nightie and Blues Clues snow boots. QUITE the fashion statement! What a funny photo!

To CUTE!
My kids are silly like that too! :)
Not just any boots, but Blues Clues boots! ... What a great picture!
You know, all the pictures you show of Brooklyn are these sweet, angelic shots. I can't imagine a temper tantrum in that sweet soul.
Love this photo! Too sweet! =)

As long as there wasn't any dog poop or such on the soles of those boots, of course. ;-)

What a doll! Makes me wonder what she's dreaming. Where are her magic boots taking her? Hmmmm...
Totally unrelated to the adorable pic of Brooklyn....but what is "Go Back and Be Happy?". I see you will be attending the launch party in January.
Hmmm....and she doesn't sleep in her bed....she sleeps with you. So...you got to sleep with the boots too lucky you! HaHa
My little guy insisted on having a flashlight and a tube of Carmex with him the other night. Comfy!
That is so funny! and so sweet that she's so happy just with her favorite boots!
How cute! But I need to ask- are you referencing Steve Martin in The Jerk?("and this paddleball game..)

My kid sleeps in a raincoat!
That's so cute! It's books for my daughter.

Cute and dare I say that must be one awesome pair of snowboots! I want some!!!

Oh that's classic - and happens to be one of my favorite movie quotes! I use it all the time and people think I'm a quack.
Cute photo!

Your pictures turn out great so I was curious.

How funny! This is something my two year old would do. It's crazy the things they want to sleep with.
My brother would sleep with his hockey helmet when he was in grade school. I always laughed at him but I guess some kids just love winter; NOT ME.
I went in to check on my littlest and found him sleeping with his garbage can, just like that. They must be related. But obviously, mine's a boy.
