Sold to the Highest Bidder

I listed the shirts and necklace that Savannah got when she went shopping with her friend.  She's donating the money earned on that auction to the Make A Wish Foundation.  Then I went ahead and listed some of the black pants I found in Austin's closet and a toy that he wanted to sell.  I probably have another 2 dozen things to list, but no time to write up descriptions.  Anyway, here are the links if you want to check them out:

DRESS PANTS

SHIRTS & NECKLACE

SNAP CIRCUITS SET

Back to writing up my BlogHer recap and a couple reviews......

What is with your obsession with Comic Sans font?

What a great solution to a difficult situation! I am so proud of her, and I know you must be too!

It was my pleasure to have hung out with you! I think I'm going to take a summer hiatus from blogging. But I would still love to hang with you if you ever want to do a playdate.

Dawn, that was so nostalgic, it took me right back to the first time I read you, which was the pokemon cards listing. I was shocked to see that some people were asking if you had a blog, what do they live under a rock?

SSO: Did other anonymous people really ask if you had a blog on those auctions, or did you ask your friends to post if you had a blog?

I think selling the items on e-bay and donating the proceeds was a wise solution for your daughter, if she was not comfortable keeping the items, but I have to wonder about the other young girl. She was exposed on your blog, and now has been exposed again on e-bay in your item description. Will she be targeted as a liar and thief when she returns to school this fall? Will every young girl that wears that shirt or necklace fall under suspicion as being "the one" that took advantage of Savannah? Teen-age years are such misery for so many children. Mistakes made/ lessons learned. I think she learned a lesson when you approached her and her mother privately, gave her the "benefit of the doubt" that she may have "forgotten a few things"and Savannah was repaid. Where is your mercy for this young girl? To use this incident to entertain or to increase ebay action, even for a good cause like Make a Wish, seems cruel.

Ok so I looked at all the auctions posted on ebay...and for the record you are way too funny to be contained in 1 human body. SO, my question is, Does everyone in the world have a blog??? The first question on each action was asking if you had a blog. I just thought that was funny. Glad to see Savannah's auction doing so well. Hope it sells well.

So I went to your ebay auctions, not because I need anything or have kids that need anything, but purely for the fact that you crack me up. But I read the little story behind the pants and it reminded me of an episode of Home Improvement when Randy went shopping with his mom and she grabbed the crotch of his pants to see if they fit properly... he had the same "you are embarrassing me" spill. I couldnt find a video of it, but I think you would have thought it funny too.

They were anonymous people who asked, but I recognized one of the names as someone who reads my blog and frequently comments! LOL

My daughter and her friends don't read my blog. I never used anyone's name. I really don't think I'm embarrassing anyone. I'm helping my daughter to raise money for a worthwhile cause. That's it.

You and Savannah are an inspiration. You not only stood up for yourselves, but also took the opportunity to teach your daughter some of the hard facts of life. I have a 5 and 3 year old, please promise me you'll be around to give advice and good examples when my turn rolls around!

I think it is so funny that all three ebay sales have an email asking if you have a blog! You go girl! Way to drive traffic! I wish I could write like you! :o)

Do you remember the episode of Wonder Years where Kevin's mom doesn't want him playing football afterschool and so she makes him go shopping for pants? Then to make it worse she announces that they are a little roomy in the [cough] lower region. You might show Austin that episode... It could be worse!

(Both on YouTube.com search wonder years football but blogger wouldn't let me send them to you.)
