Camping

We're camping. You know, because we never learn from our past camping trips. So, just as we pulled up to our site, the truck died. I videotaped it because I figured no one would believe me otherwise. Let's see now...the truck has burst into flames, the wheel has fallen off the truck, the fuel pump has gone out, a bracket broke, the air has gone out, once we could only drive 15 mph the whole way home, and once we crashed and both the camper and the truck flipped over. Yet, we continue to go! WHY??? I guess we keep doing it because of this stuff...

  2. this WHOLE freegin time I've read your many posts about the 'truck' breaking down on various camping trips. And each time I read the word 'truck' and I'd think to myself, how the flip do all 8 of them fit in a truck for heaven's sake? But you always camp with other families, so I just assumed some of your kids rode with your friends. Or maybe you took two cars (hello, INSANE!)
Thank goodness for your video, that shows me your 'truck' is a Suburban!!

  4. Oh, my. Sorry about the truck.

There's nothing like a can of Pringles to turn kids into ducks....

  5. Oh well, at least Brooklyn's pink Cowboy boots came along to the camping trip. So why bother about a truck, that keeps breaking down?

We've had a lousy summer, as my husband had to work really hard and most weekends, so I envy you for your camping trip. I hope that once it gets quieter at work again, we'll get to go out of town for a weekend or so.

    So long,
    Corinna

  10. But on the plus side, at least they have internet access, right? And oh the kids look like they've having fun. I hope you are, too.

Out of curiosity, what happens when a truck breaks down IN a campsite? How does it get fixed? And what was that post for?

  11. Try a little reverse psychology on the darn thing! Plan for the truck to break down on your next camping trip and make contingency arrangements with a service garage near your campground. This way you're covered and it will probably operate without a hitch... (pun intended?)

  12. The one and only time we went camping with the kids, our brand new tent had no poles in the box. My husband has refused to go since. You guys have a great approach to life. Keep smiling!

  13. Too funny. I looked at the first couple of pictures and couldn't believe how much they reminded me of our Yogi Bear Campground here in Nova Scotia. Then I scrolled down and ... VOILA! Theere's Cindy!

At least your truck has the sense to bring down in a good place. :D

  14. Maybe it breaks down all the time because it's a Chevy?? just a theory ;)

  15. Yikes, I am not a camping girl and the next time my husband's best friend even mentions it I will consider it or maybe not. Love the pictures of the family.

  16. When your kids are older - the breakdown stories are going to be a great memory... remember the time the truck broke down at....

  18. Goodness, life is funny. We have the same suburban. I love the darn thing even with it's many 'quirks' and gas milage. We too have a camp trailer. We love to go. We are a site to behold when we come bounding out of our suburban. We have 2 grandsons who go with us and 5 dogs...We love the KOA camp in San Antonio...Great people, great site, and lots to do.
