The show's set in Chicago which is cool, of course. Although there's a part in the second episode where they go to Woodfield Mall, but the mall that's shown on Trust Me is definitely not Woodfield. That bugged me. I don't know why. It's kinda ridiculous, isn't it. Like I've said before - I need therapy. Anyway, it stars Eric McCormack, Tom Cavanagh, and Monica Potter who work at an ad agency in Chicago.
You have to watch the show so you know what I'm talking about when I say, "Do Thumbthing" (which I intend to say a lot from now on.) LOL! Do Thumbthing. Hee hee. Yeah, it doesn't take much to amuse me.
Anyway, here's a little video from my lunch with Monica Potter today. She's very pretty and thin and I just love how real she was at lunch. She's a working mom just trying to keep it all together like most of us. (I don't know what happened to the video. It looked great when I edited it, but once I loaded it to YouTube, it started looking all funky and dark. I'm sorry about the poor quality.)
Me & Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing. Stephanie is a total sweetheart and (small world) her cousin goes to my church!
Me & Beth Feldman from Role Mommy. Beth is the author of Peeing in Peace (is that a great title or what?!) and she's one of the amazing women I got to hang out with in L. A. this past October. Thanks for inviting me, Beth! It was so great to see you again!
MJ Tam and Jen Khatchatrian from Chicagonista, a website devoted to bringing you Chicago's hidden treasures from eats, plays, shopping, and events to family friendly activities both in the city and suburbs.
Me & Monica Potter. Yes, I know it's blurry. My flash didn't go off, but she was trying to get out the door, so I didn't want to hold her up by asking her to take another picture. Just squint your eyes and/or have a drink and it'll look clear.
And, just because I'm a dork who finds things like "contact lens solution in the bathroom" kinda funny, here's another picture. If you're ever at the Capital Grille in Chicago and you just need to clean your contact lenses immediately, never fear, the bathroom there is stocked with cleaning solution. In fact, while you're at it, grab a Q-Tip and clean out your ears, brush the lint off your shirt, and apply a fresh layer of hairspray. Oh, and just in case, there's a container of tampons too.
Now, what other blogger would be doofy enough to take a picture of this? That's me - always finding stupid things that amuse me and then sharing them with you. Aren't you glad you read this blog? :D
Oh, and I've got 3 TNT goody bags to give away too! Included is a TNT Trust Me tote bag (this is a nice sturdy one with a zipper!), a Trust Me T-shirt, a Trust Me notepad and a cast picture autographed by Monica Potter! Score! Leave me a comment here and I'll pick 3 winners on Monday night.
This sounds cool. I will have to watch the show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great experience that must have been, meeting a star!! Happy viewing; I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteLaura
Looks like you all had a nice time. You look great! That bathroom is stocked up, I have been to one place that had bathrooms with a cool set up like that. my old gym had deoderant and sometimes it was solid - i couldn't bring myself to use it. Ack! That is something you just don't share.

I can't wait to see the show. I have to admit, I think it's a little funny to have contact solution in a public restroom... I'm not sure I could use it if I needed to, but I would LOVE it if more bathrooms had a "just in case" container of tampons. Things always get so crazy when we are out, I can always remember the twins diapers & wipes but always forget to grab a darn tampon! Nothing like the toilet paper or paper towel liner hoping you make it without an accident!
ReplyDeleteUhaul pregnancies....it will be the lastest fad! I'll be watching! Thanks
ReplyDelete"TRUST ME" I want to win....
ReplyDeleteOh my stars...I want that t-shirt......It is 6:00 AM where I am and I've been up since 9 AM on Friday because...well because I'm a dummy and I came to a conference in Miami and then I fell in the road because I was texting or tweeting one and then I broke my foot and then I missed my flight and then I spent the night laying in the floor of the Ft. Lauderdale Airport with my laptop surfing and hey, look, I'm one of the first to comment.....
ReplyDeletea girl goes through all that, she deserves the loot...and that t-shirt is freakin' killer...
Very cool, Dawn. I always Trust You!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the previews for this show and thought that it is going to be a great one! I love Eric from Will and Grace! And I am a bag-a-holic!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I saw the previews to this show and thought it was going to be good. I love Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanagh. I think their going to work great together.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great time at your luncheon. Take Care!
Debbie
I was already planning on watching Trust Me, but now I have to!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great lunch!
WOW That sounds like it may be a show I will have to check out. Glad you had a good time. Sure hope I win!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm the first one to comment--I must be the only dork who is up at the crack of dawn and wants to get her computer time in before the whole house goes berserk :) That show sounds really cool--I will have to watch that one. I am sort of a TV junkie so one more won't hurt, right?
ReplyDeletepick me. pick me......pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee i love your blog. Jodie
ReplyDeleteHeh, I understand all too well the angst of having no TV time. We live in Germany and refuse to pay out our ears for 5 or 6 channels that show old movies and tv shows. My mother stocked our dvd collection with the entire Backyardigans series and gave us all the Disney movies and DVDs from my childhood. I'm not sure I would know what to do with myself if I watched real TV with adult plots.
ReplyDelete(and I'd love to win some loot! :D)
You're no dork! You are just bringing valuable info to your readers...a public service announcement! ;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy learning from your experiences and since I am a visual learner, I love the pics!
Thanks for heads up about the show.....i already tivo the Closer and since this comes on right after...i'll check it out!!
ReplyDeletewow! That must have been a way cool lunch. Thanks for sharing!

I don't think I have ever been the first one to comment before on any blog. I will have to look for Trust Me and check it out.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the previews for Trust Me and it looks awesome! I'm definitely going to have to add it to my (very small) list of tv shows!
ReplyDeleteDawn, you always make me smile and I am VERY GLAD I read your blog! I would love to win one of your goody bags. I miss Will McCormack. Will & Grace is one of my favorite shows!

I will have to watch Trust Me as you make it sound good. I love the bathroom at the grill! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat show sounds good. I sounds like your lunch was great. How amazing that you get to hang out with such diverse and amazing women.
ReplyDeleteCool! The Husband and I have wanted to watch that (b/c we like Tom Cavanagh in basically everything we've seen him in) but we missed the premiere. Hopefully we'll be able to catch up! Goodies are always fun!
ReplyDelete(I would've taken a picture of the stuff in that bathroom too!)
it looks so cool!
ReplyDeleteI am gonna have to check the show out! It sounds like you had great fun!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the previews and thought it sounded like my kind of show. I'll have to be sure to dvr it! And I'm all about free t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteI'm always glad that I read your blog! I'll have to check out Trust Me.
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd give Trust me a look see anyway - before you're glowing (maybe it's only good cause it isn't nickelodian) review!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are both from Las Vegas, and it totally bugs us when they misrepresent Vegas stuff in movies! They always have the casinos out of order or in the wrong part of town, like in Con Air when the plane is on the strip and then crashes into the hard rock guitar, even though the hard rock isn't even on the strip.
ReplyDeleteMonica Potter...the only thing I've seen her in is some movie about models. I'll have to check out her new show.
That is sooo awesome you got to meet her. I wanna meet celebrities!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm anxiously awaiting the premiere of this show. I thought it looked great too. I love TNT. Wow, what a great time you must have had. Awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteooh, pick me. I've always liked Monica Potter.
ReplyDeleteEric was on Regis and Kelly the other day and he made the show sound like something I'd like to watch. My question is: how did you manage to arrange dinner with a TV star!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I read your "blog" in Good Housekeeping the other day. NICE!
PS...pick me!!
That looks like so much fun. I had to search her on IMDB and I loved her in Patch Adams.
ReplyDeleteI love just about every show on TNT.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! I want that! I want that!
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for the premiere of this show. It sounds really good.
Donna in PA :)
Sounds like you had a blast. I have noticed that we moms need our breaks from our kids every now and then to keep our balance.
ReplyDeleteAnita in Indiana
How awesome is that...I love this station and about all of their shows.
ReplyDeleteHope to win!
Heather in Indiana
I've seen the previews on Trust Me and I thought it looked like it would be a good show. And, btw, I really enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the previews of the show and am looking forward to it. I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great show! Will have to watch!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that this got my attention because at work yesterday we had a group come in and do a motivational speech like thing called Trust me?...I'm going to have to check this show out!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking "Jan 26... I'll have to remember that" and then realized that the 26th is THIS Monday. What happened to January?
ReplyDeleteAnd ummm whenever I go to dinner at a fun place, I always (as do many of my friends) make a trip to the ladies room to check out what fun and funky things they have there. Now I can skip Capital Grille ;)
And I get really bugged when there are shows and movies "in" Chicago that have people doing things like driving along lower Wacker and then suddenly on 55 or driving on LSD south of the museum campus or whathaveyou. I'm all for accuracy!
It sounds like a great show. I will set it to record right now!
ReplyDeleteTrust Me is already set on my DVR to tape so I'll see what all the fuss is about. Thanks, Dawn
ReplyDeleteBag with zipper, please.
Andi
How do you get invited to all these cool things? I'm so jealous. PICK ME!! I've seen a ton of previews of the show and it looks pretty cool
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I will have to check out that show, I love the cast!
ReplyDelete~Kathy Polak - TX
Would love to win a set :)
ReplyDeleteCool experience! So I've got a SSO question...I'm totally in awe of your straightening up ability. I look at messes like that and pee my pants. I never learned how to clean an oven and I've lived in my house now for 5 years. It looks like a set for a strange inorganic planet in a cheap sci-fi movie. How do you clean your oven?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Becky
I actually have "Trust Me" already programmed into my TIVO. My husband and I watch "Leverage" (love it!) on TNT as well and we saw the previews for this show. It looks like it's going to be great!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time! I'll have to watch the show. We can always use another tote at our house!
ReplyDeleteJill W.
When is the show debuting? Sounds like you had a good time at the luncheon.
ReplyDeleteAlready had it in my DVR before your review....now I am excited!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Sounds like you had a very nice time.

ReplyDeleteTrust Me... I'm a doctor!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, if you think the new show is anywhere near Seinfled league it must be good!
Wow, you met all kinds of neat people! TRUST ME, I love Tom Cavanaugh, ever since he starred in ED. I'd love to win the TNT tote bag and other goodies, and can't wait to check out this new show.
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I would have slipped one of those tampons in my purse????
ReplyDeletei love free stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a tv watcher either. I'd have to look up from laptop and that's apparently not going to happen!

ReplyDeleteI have seen some promo's for this show and couldn't remember what day or channel it was going to be on! Glad you had fun and I will be sure to tune in on Monday!
ReplyDeleteI would love to walk into a bathroom that had things stocked like that. Especially tampons! I usually have one in my purse.. unless I actually need one that is.
ReplyDeleteLooking forwatrd to checking out the show...
ReplyDeleteLinda
Sounds like it was a great time!
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for grown-up shows to watch, so I'll have to check this one out...esp since it has Tom Cavanaugh in it! My husband and I both really enjoy his work. Thanks for telling about it! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks too cool and makes me wish I still had cable to watch the show. :)

ReplyDeleteThe kiddos' birthday cakes looked great.
I love your blog and you are so beautiful...I am Stephanie's mom. Your 6 children are delightful! Steph was telling me all about the great time she had. I look forward to playing catch up at reading and getting to know you better.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great!
ReplyDeleteSweeet! I love Tom Cavanagh from the other show he used to have on "Ed". I'll have to check out his new show!
ReplyDeleteI understand the misrepresentation in movies. My husband grew up in Elizabethtown, KY, so when the Elizabethtown movie came out, of course we had to see it. It portrayed Elizabathetown as a little hick town, and it is definitely not.
ReplyDeleteThen, let us not forget that on his way to Elizabethtown from the Louisville airport, they have him going through tunnels that he deinitely wouldn't have traveled through (wrong interstate), but it was really bad when he went by what we call The Castle, which is impossible without being completely and utterly stupid. I guess they have to use some artistic license, but let's make it work a little.
Ah, want an experience lunching with MP! I believe she was in Boston Legal, too? How cool. I would love to win the swag!

Great!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Please everyone, watch Life on Mars, back 1/28 Wednesday nights at 10:00PM. Great show, with Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli, and the very handsome Jason O'Mara, who was actually on Trust Me last night(he died). My new favorite show! Although my last favorite show was a little more recent than Seinfeld. Hah!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was fun! : )
