Just a couple things here before I fall asleep sitting up watch a movie with the kids.
The third segment of my interview with 5 Minutes For Mom is up HERE. Go watch it and check out the rest of their site while you're there! Just don't look at my total fatness (especially in contrast to these twins who are a size negative 2). Concentrate on my shiny hair instead. It's nice when someone does your hair for you. Which brings me to my second thing...
I was sent a buttload of Suave products to try out. Score! The kids love the coconut shampoo and Lexi is happy we got detangler because that girl has the tangliest hair ever! I used the vibrant shine shampoo and conditioner and I love the way it lathers up and cleans my hair. The conditioner is nice and thick and leaves my hair soft and shiny. I didn't love the fragrance, but that's probably just because I'm insane about stuff like that. I'm picky about the way things smell and I've oftentimes bought a shampoo or lotion solely based on the fragrance. I know, I know, I admit that I'm a little, ah, neurotic. Anyway, what does smell really good is the lavender vanilla body wash and lotion. Mmmm, soft and yummy and calming.
And better than all these goodies is the fact that I'll be going to Beverly Hills to see the Glamour Reel Moments premier presented by Suave! You'll be able to read more details in the future on my review blog HERE. All I know is a few fashion and beauty bloggers are going, sweet Liz from This Full House is going, and then there's frumpy old me. I think I need a trip to the mall to see what the mannequins are wearing this season.
A few people have emailed me, letting me know that they've received an email from Amazon stating that my book will be shipping in a couple weeks. I'm not sure why you've gotten those emails, but nope, the book won't be out until April 1st. Hmmm, April Fool's Day? Yeah, that's not a bad sign.
And woohoo! I got to 4,000,000 hits today! Thanks for letting me know, Sandy!
OK, sorry, but that's it for tonight. Sooo tired. But I'll leave you with this picture of the dessert the kids made....
congrats on 4million! {wow, I just had to go back and count the zeroes there to make sure I didn't end up sounding like a fool- that is a BIG number!}
ReplyDeleteI am wondering- does your counter have any way to count those posts read on readers? Because if not, I am sure your hit number is much higher- I read your blog in google reader and rarely click through to the page, mostly only if I want to comment. So if those aren't counted, there are many more readers out there than you think!
either way- congratulations and get well soon wishes are coming your way. :)
FOUR MILLION! Send some of that love my way girlfriend!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I'll take a bottle or two of that lavendar vanilla stuff while you're at it! ; )
Are you kidding? You look fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteLOL...oh good God what is that? wet dirt sauce? mmm....
ReplyDeleteCould you explain the situation on your book? My Mom said she preordered it in August for my birthday and I was beginning to wonder if that was just her way of covering up that she FORGOT my birthday (yes, my OWN mother!). Thanks for a clarification...
ReplyDeleteI love the princess teacup beside the Frisbees full of mud. YUM! Who made these disgusting, I mean delicious concoctions?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the semi-vay-cay to Beverly Hills!

I guess your cold season was right on time with the start of fall! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say that Suave has always been my favorite shampoo! I've tried the much more expensive stuff, but Suave is always my first choice :)
What an interesting looking dessert
ReplyDeleteidea..It is certainly ORGANIC and all-natural. What would happen IF you took one of those plates, put same into a large galon size baggie, froze it(so it wouldn't fall apart) and then in a day or two..bring it out..saying Tonight we have Child X or Child Y to thank for making this wonderful treat..Dig In!!!
So Dawn: My question is: Would this be perceived as a really funny JOKE.or..would it precipitate a CRISIS solveable ONLY by a hasty trip to Dairy Queen,or that SONIC place you mentioned a few weeks back.
4,000,000 hits! Holy-oh-my-heck girl! That's right... I'm off to watch that interview now...
ReplyDeleteI'm back. Nice job on the interview. I think you looked lovely. My gosh, your complexion is flawless. I think my face thinks I'm going through puberty again!
ReplyDeleteI love the suave exhale lotion, It comes in 3 other kinds as well, My favorite is the green bottle wich is called Inspiring, its got a lime scent to it, Its wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteI bought some of that lavender vanilla body wash just to try it out, and now I don't want to use anything else!
ReplyDeleteEspecially loved it combined with my lavender/lilac shampoo.
You said the shampoo lathered and cleaned your hair, but the large amounts of lather are actually bad for your hair! You should check to see if it contains "sodium laurel sulfate" or any ingredient containing sodium. In the long run, it can damage your hair, making it lackluster, dry, thin, etc.
ReplyDeleteI discovered the Suave Kids shampoo for my daughter last year. I was cautious at first, she has ultra sensitive skin and even reacts to most hypr-allergenic stuff, but she had no problems with it. This summer she used Suave's Swim and Sport shampoo for kids and it worked wonders. No dried out straw after 6 weeks of swimming lessons!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are not fat nor do yo look fat. You look like an adult woman who has her priorities straight and too much to do in too little time. Being healthy, eating right and exercise are important but looking like a twig is not! Looks are transitory are best and not worth the time we spend worrying about them.
Don't think you're insane for being picky about fragrance! You're the one who's going to have to deal with it every time you want to use the product, so you might as well pick something that you really like (and compliments you)...besides, it's good to know that someone else is just as picky/insane about that kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! And feel better, too!
oh my goodness! What a delicious way to end a meal! You can tell your kids watch Food Network a lot by the "micro greens" yard waste garnish on the right plate. LOL! Ah the good ole' days of mud pies. Why can life be that simple anymore? Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Mud Pies for dessert - yum! Where's the Cool Whip?
ReplyDeleteAs for the Suave products, I swear by the octopus-emblazoned detangler spray for my 2-year-old daughter's unruly and/or flyaway hair.
we love suave too, my kids just discovered the coconut one. my wanna be Brooklyn snuck it out of the bathroom and "washed" her hair in the living room with it. it smells good on carpet too!
ReplyDeleteummmm, mud pies! let me give your kids my favorite recipe: magnolia leaves make great burrito wraps. you can tie it shut with dried pine needles. take a little mud and mix in a little pea gravel for beans, wrap it up in the burrito wrap and walla! you've got burritos to go with the mudpies!
you poor thing being sick! mommies never get to stop even when they are sick! try neilmed sinus rinse (not the neti-pot, get the bulb) it will flush all the yucky stuff out of your sinuses and you really do get better faster! my husbands ENT recommends that you do it as often as you brush your teeth anyway as sinus hygeine (ugh!)
I LOVE Suave products always have. I also buy them for the kids. Their just like Nexxus shampoo in the white bottle with blue writing has always been a favorite.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about the coconut shampoo is it helps repel lice. Exactly why I put it on my kid LOL
