Remember when I had 500 hits to this blog in one day? :::sigh::: Yep, those were the good ole days. Today I've had almost 11,000 and the number is still climbing. No, that's not a typo. ALMOST ELEVEN THOUSAND! Yesterday I felt so popular and loved. Today, I'm sitting here, staring at this screen, glazed expression on my face, drooling, sweating and starting to hyperventilate.
I so wanted to reply to each and every comment because first off, you took the time to write and I appreciate it. And secondly, there were some really wonderful, humorous comments in there. However, I can't even keep up reading all the comments, let alone replying to them. I've had over 1000 comments on this auction. They're literally filling my box faster than I can read them (and I'm a speedy reader!) What this means is - there are a whole lot of people out there who can relate to the trials and tribulations and joys of motherhood! We're not alone! In fact, there are so many of us, we may be able to take over the world if we play our cards right. ;)
A couple people suggested I post some of the comments on here and I think it's a wonderful idea! Give me a couple days *read a year and a half* to compile a list and check back for them. In case you're interested, I've had visits from the following countries...

Whew! It's like I'm an announcer for the Olympics!
About a million people have asked me how to subscribe to my blog. I have NO idea! I'm completely computer stupid. If anyone has a clue, I'd be much obliged if you could clue me in.
So many of you have made wonderful comments on my blog as well. I'm trying to put them all on here. I want to return the favors and visit your blogs and websites too. I'm a little inundated right now, but will make every effort to do so in the next couple weeks.
I took my daughter to the doctor this morning and was all prepared to come home and post about my visit to the doctor when I logged on to a billion pieces of mail. (Notice the numbers keep climbing?) :D Anyway, that one will have to wait.
Thank you again to everyone who has read, commented, and passed this on to friends!
digg.com can do wonders.
ReplyDeletethat baby laughing about made me piss my pants.

I posted a link to your blog on my blog too. Your writing cracks me up. Can't wait to read some of your previous posts! We may start having capacity issues on blogspot because of you! Seriously as I was blogging tonight I realized it's much slower and I've been having to refresh and retry alot. I think your blog is creating a traffic jam! You'll have that book deal before you know it!
ReplyDeleteA message board had a link to your eBay posting which lead me here. I'm going to have to be careful or I'll be reading here rather than doing work. :)
ReplyDeleteDaniel hit the nail on the head.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm about to bid on your item, you deserve the money after that hilarious story
ha saw the ebay auction, you may care to note that the visitors are coming from a site called Digg.
ReplyDeleteI saw a link to your ebay auction and thought your description was downright hilarious. I can somewhat relate - I have four kids (14,10,8,6)....although I no longer have to bring them shopping with me because I can go when they are in school or my oldest can now stay home with them.
ReplyDeleteI then saw your link to your blog - and I got sidetracked here for HOURS this afternoon. I just love reading your entries - you have such a way with words - and your sense of humour - well I can just tell that I would really like you if I knew you IRL.
I have subscribed (not sure if that is the right term)...but I Have added to my list of blogs I read on my blog.
BTW - I can't believe that list of countries for your visitors!!!! You get around LOL!
Jill
About how to subscribe to your blog, they probably need a RSS reader of some sort (Google Reader - google.com/reader - is a good online one).
ReplyDeleteThen they click "Add feed" (or something like that) and enter the url of your RSS feed, which is
http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
I just read your eBay auction description via a student-run blog for my university here in HI (www.fortstreetpulse.com).
ReplyDeleteI think that was absolutely the hardest I've laughed all day, and brought back memories of grocery shopping lectures I got from my own mom.
I just have to say, i read your story on eBay, and I laughed hysterically! I've been a writer my whole life, and I've learned that for most people, it either comes naturally or not, and for you it does. I'm begging you to continue with you stories, fictional or narrative. Talent like yours shouldn't go to waste! I hope someday i can read some more about you and your comical clan. good luck, and congratulations on the success of your story.
ReplyDelete-Darby Wilson
I found your ebay ad through a link in a forum, then followed the clues to your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou make my zoo of a household sound so normal. I love it!
After reading your blog I have come to realise that the mess and disasters are apart of this never ending, thankless job and it made me feel so much better (Although it could have been my happy pills kicking in for the day).

Hello, I found your blog through your eBay auction. You're very charming and seem to be very practical!
ReplyDeleteUsually when I see someone with six kids, I think to myself "oh boy, you should have given up after 2 or 3!" But I certainly can not be the judge of anyone. Especially me, who has sworn off ever having children at the age of 11 ten years ago! Good luck, I hope this blog will bring you many more successes.
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI like large family. But I NEVER see any girl entertain the idea of having more than 2 kids. If it's up to you, how many kids do you want to have?
oh you are one funny woman
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through your ebay listing. Your posts had my family in stitches all evening. Thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeleteBeing a 19 year old semi-not-so-really adult, i find your blog hilarious! Earlier today I sat here reading every single post (quite like a stalker) and could not keep myself from laughing hysterically. Thank you for the entertainment and I hope to see more of the same for however long you keep updating!
ReplyDeleteI grew up with 5 siblings, but I love your blog because you find humor in all of the crazy family antics. As a Mom of young children, I appreciate your willingness to admit your lack of control over your 6 pack. I have only 2, and I'm out numbered already! I'm rooting for you, & thanks for the good cheer! -Peggy
ReplyDeleteso you're the reason blogger is slow!
ReplyDeleteI'm new at blogging and having enough trouble as it is, give a girl a break :)
I hope some rich old sod who was mean to his mother growing up, but didn't get a chance to make it up to her decides to bless you and bids a thousand
Oh man! I just had abdominal surgery- please do not make me laugh that hard!! You have no idea the pain you just caused me lady! Oh ya you do, after 6 kids, I think you know pain as well as I do :)
ReplyDeleteKeep writing! We are loving it!!
I am from Pakistan.
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog via the ebay listing via Reddit. Your blog cracks me up.
My brother and I used to do some mad things like locking our servants (Yes, in Pakistan domestic help is cheap and almost everyone who can afford it has maids and drivers-so I guess my mother had some help with the house and cleaning up etc.) in their rooms in the far side of the house for hours. As for using our crayons to draw on walls. My mother eventually got so tired that she allowed us to draw on walls ONLY if it was in our own room. Our room was filled with huge drawings of Ninja Turtles, Transformers and Thundercats. I got potty trained after ages, and I often shat whenever I felt like and would be comfortable roaming around with turds in my underwear. Until the smell gave me away or something. I used to be wary of dogs when I was carrying my turds in my underwear because they had this bad habit of smelling it out quickly and poke their noses in my butts. Once I got lost in a huge clothes boutique and was discovered in the middle of a clothing display where beautiful designer dresses were hanging taking a dump and smearing it over clothes in the process. Yes, my mother had to pay for all the expensive clothes as well as suffer the embarrassment of not having a potty trained 7 year old.
I just read all this again. Am I obsessed with human excrement? Oh well!
Anyway, since my mother is completely computer illiterate. I am going to make her read this and then get her to tell me stories of our childhood and maybe start posting them on a blog.
Your blog is very humorous and you have a talent which should not be wasted. Surely, if thousands of people can read and enjoy this, you can't go wrong.
Good luck with everything!
Thank you so much for the laugh. I truly enjoyed your ebay listing story and your blog is pure genius!!!!
ReplyDeleteit seems like you're becoming the next internet phenom.....can i have your autograph? :)
Add Kenya to your list.
ReplyDeleteVia digg!
Your ebay auction was quite possibly one of the most hilarious finds I've ever found while surfing digg.com.
ReplyDeleteWell worth reading the novel of a description on ebay. And the 2 1/2 hours I've spent reading all of your blog posts thus far.
I swear only 2 hours ago you only had 31 bids, and now 41. 79.88 for a plain ol' pack of Pokemon cards, I'm sure it is well deserved.
-msb
p.s I never read blogs, but I now have you bookmarked. Guess I better start.
I am a mum of 4 from Australia, just got the link for your blog today from ebay and I gotta say you are one HILARIOUS woman! Thanks for the entertainment and laugh right when I need it most :)
ReplyDeleteHi!! I saw your ebay pokeman auction and found it hilarious! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThing is, most people from Digg and Reddit disappear after about a day or two, it'll slow down and stop. Diggers are notoriously lazy about reading things, but the Pokemon story is killing, at least you're making a good profit on them. The internet is weird. Hmm, back to Final Fantasy.
ReplyDeleteit seems as if your kid's pokemon antics has led to your internet fame! congratulations!
ReplyDeletehi~ i came here throuhg my friend who sent me a link to your ebay story! and i loved it! just wanted to leave you a comment, though from what i've read you've got plenty to deal with!
ReplyDeleteAdd Guatemala to your list! I´m very impressed with your writing. Like everyone else, I came across a link to your ebay auction and loved it so much I am now subscribing to your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have just two kids (20 months and 3 months) and that is hard enough in the grocery store (think breaking glass dishes, torn packets of soap, etc.) and I have to say, it´s amazing you aren´t insane! :D
Good luck with your massive influx of readers, hopefully some will stick around, and when things settle down, pop on over to my blog and say hi.
I've subscribed to your blog :)
ReplyDeleteYou should check out http://miscmum.com - you'd enjoy that blog.
Psst... You didn't add Singapore. :P
ReplyDeleteNow you can add Sweden to the list as well!
ReplyDeleteYour blogg is now going to be visited by at least one person from Sweden. EVERY day!
Oh my gods-- your writing had me (and my husband) in stitches when I read every single entry tonight. I came across your blog from your ebay auction which was posted on Reddit. Please, please, please keep writing! I have you bookmarked :-D
ReplyDeletehi, im just contributing to your overwhelming blog hits!
ReplyDeleteyour ebay story was funny as hell!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteYour eBay text and blog entries are fantastic! You should really consider writing a book - it is going to be a great read.
Alexandre,
young father of 2 1/4 yr. old boy
P.S. Add Russia to your list of countries ;)
RSS reader's the thing, yes. I use bloglines.com to follow about 150 blogs (yes, 151 now)
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not on Blogger anymore, though :D
cheers and kudos, from Iceland
I'm form Estonia so you can add another country to your list :P
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you have maintained your positive attitude when under such stress of having a lot of kids :)
Best of luck and happyness and good things to you.
Hey, go to feedblitz.com - it is a subscription service and you just add a code to your blog. It puts a little SUBSCRIBE ME box on your blog and then "taa - daa" you have a mailing list.
ReplyDeleteSo, how do I get an ad put up on your blog? Give me a shout when you get your life back.
Enjoy the day chasing the kids.
All I can say is THANK YOU for the laughs! I can't tell you how many blogs/websites I come across a day, where it starts out interesting, and just slowly dies out, and I give up trying to read them. :) Your blog, on the other hand...well, I sat down and just finished reading it! (...maybe the tiniest bit stalker-like, but I'm unashamed! :) )
ReplyDeleteI've never had the "big family" experience. Our family is comprised of just the 4 of us: Mom, Dad, Me (16) and my brother (14) so it's relatively quiet now in our home now that we're somewhat grown-up :).Reading your blog has allowed me to get a feel for the big-family-life and all the trials and tribulations associated with it! :) I remember when he (because obviously I never did anything wrong...*coughcough*) would just do things, just for the satisfaction of making our poor mother pull her hair out in frustration. And that was just the 2 of us! Seriously, you get points at life for all the work you do! WELL DONE! Keep up the good work with your kids, and keep on blogging! I'll be reading, for sure!

Your listing on ebay had me smiling all the way through. I'm a mother of 7 and like you, detest cream of ketchup soup almost as much as I hate grocery shopping and the well-meant (if half-stunned) questions of "are they all yours!?". What moves people to ask that is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteGreat ebay posting :-)
This is an amazing story! As a home schooling Mom of three who occasionally sells things on eBay, I CRACKED up at this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot, I have linked to ya and added you to my reader girl.
So my question is, how are you going to top this?
Amber

Like I said on my eBay post to you:
ReplyDeleteYou rock, chica. Hats off for keeping your wits about you and your sense of humor well-polished.
that story you included with your blog was awesome...my mom has so many problems taking me to the store, and there's just the one of me...

ReplyDeleteMatter of fact, I noticed the name of your blog and up until 6 weeks ago, my blog was called mama2a6pack!! (It's a live journal, but now because of our lucky number 7 has been renamed to army_of_9 !!)
My kids have snuck many things past me before...never those cards although I would never put it past them! *LOL* Thanks again for the interesting read and pop by my livejournal if you ever have spare time *LOL* ;D

Another reader here in Puerto Rico. I have three and I thought I had a handfull. The only difference is, I do most of the stuff around the house for my wife - I think 50/50 sounds about right. Anyway, I loved the story on the ebay auction. I'm sending this to my wife to read. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh my....you are living my life...just 1 more kid than me! I totally understand and can relate to your life and have a few friends who can as well...I am in a playgroup with 5 moms, 3 of us have 5 kids each! Can you say looney bin?
ReplyDeleteoh girl! thank you for this blog and thank you for your ebay posting!
ReplyDeletei have 12 kids (yes i said 12) and i know from experience, some days if you don't laugh.....you cry (or go quietly insane!)

ReplyDeletemy sister emailed your ebay link to me. love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna put a link to it on my blog:
http://granolasdodallas.blogspot.com
As if you need more readers :o)
You can add South Africa to your list - because I am sure half of our 46mil population is laughing their heads of right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new mother... so this scares me a little!
All of the best, and God bless you!
PS. Try selling these to magazines, I don't know which ones you get in the states, but try the mommy ones.
Love your Ebay auction, I'm sure I'll love your blog too!
ReplyDelete- A new reader :)
@Daniel - No, Reddit.com does wonders! Just thought that needed to be said...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with the blog taking off, you have such a great sense of humor, I hope you don't loose it :D
Add South Africa to your list - I'm sure most of the computer literate people of our 46mil population are laughing their heads off right now.
ReplyDeleteTry selling your stories to a mommy magazine - don't know which ones you have in the states, but send it to the editor, may be they'll publish!
Good luck, and keep writing!
Hey there! The one mothers board I frequent had a post about your eBay listing. I sat here and laughed way too much. So I found you through there!
ReplyDeleteSoon as you stop causing too much blogger traffic I'll be posting my own blog about you, linking you!!
I completely feel for you. I have my own brood of 4 and to get the "are they all yours" question. I have a BJ @ 13, HAM @ 10, Jay @ 2, Aby @ 1.... So yeah I get all the odd questions to... Since I just went shopping with all of them last week I know exactly how you feel!! (Ok almost exactly since you have 2 more then I!!) Good luck with your auction!
You are absolutely hilarious! What a gifted writer you are! I loved the description you gave for your Ebay auction. I'm watching to see how high the price rises. Way to go!! I'd give you a cut of my earnings if you'd write my descriptions (VBG). I have 7 children so I can completely relate to the family comedy LOL
ReplyDeleteHave as great a day as you made mine!
Hilarious!! As a momma to 8 (13, 11, 9, 7, 4, 2 & 10m twins)I CAN RELATE!! Took my brood to Wally-world last Friday. OY!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your "15 minutes of fame" - give or take a few! LOL
- COMamabear (http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/COMamabear)
Haha, I must say your blog is AMAZING. I'm glad I've never caused my mom quite as much trouble. To subscribe to your blog, you have a link that is below the "Older Posts" link. It says "Subscribe to Posts (Atom)". I'm definitely subscribing now.
ReplyDeleteMy brother emailed me a link to your poke man cards, your shopping trip reminded him of me. I have 7 kids 13-3, 5 boys & 2 girls. I got a kick out of it and shared it. Big families are comical at times..
ReplyDeleteI was one of the earlier bidders--I just had to bid when a friend e-mailed me the link. All I wanted to do was bump your price up a little bit, and then I was high bidder. I had no idea what I was going to do with fifteen dollars worth of Pokemon cards! Then I got outbid. Somebody must really want those cards--it's over a hundred now!
ReplyDeleteI rarely laugh out loud, but your listing had me nearly rolling on the floor. Those are six lucky kids, to have such a smart and witty mama.
Another Aussie, who came here via your eBay auction, which came via a link on a large craft message board.
ReplyDeleteTime for you to get that child-wrangling book started! You had me in fits of laughter, and I've only got two to contend with! I've sent the link to a few other people I know will enjoy it.
Thanks for brightening my day.
Judie
Hi, please, puts Brazil to your list!
ReplyDeleteHugs to six! God Bless!
Toooooo Funny. Thanks for the laugh, it's always nice to start the day with a giggle.
ReplyDeleteAt the bottom of your blog it says: Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). They just need to click on that and then add it to their google reader.
ReplyDeletei live that shopping trip often too! never with bonus Pokemon cards though i am just stupid enough to buy them on purpose!imagine hundreds of Pokemon cards scattered through my house, you are my hero! how fun it must be to be so popular for telling the real truth about having 6 kids. i am semi popular but nothing like this! you rock!
ReplyDeleteFound your story on digg.com - one of the best diggs I've read in a long time. Whoever said that you need to continue writing in some form or fashion, was, in fact, correct. You seem to have a great grasp on both sentence structure as well as word placement - a rarity in the world today.
ReplyDeleteKeep writing, so we can keep reading!
Orion - Denver, CO
You are a riot! I wish I was half as good and funny a writer! As it is, I'm barely able to get pants on most days and I only have two kids! LOL I can't wait to come back and read more.
ReplyDeletebrilliant, i love it!!
ReplyDeleteCame here via eBay, which had been linked from a forum for gentle Christian mothers (which I am not, but aspire to be).
ReplyDeleteOh, and I subscribe through Bloglines.
Love it!! I only have three and I feel like that.
ReplyDeleteNow you have a comment from the country of St. Lucia. I loved your ebay auction and the archives of your blog that I have read have been really funny. Thanks for the smile :-) ~April - mom to 2
ReplyDeleteDawn, congratulations on your Ebay auction and your newfound "fame" :)
ReplyDeleteI've just written about you on my blog, as a great example of how to sell... and what's so amazing, I don't think you realized just how good a job you did! I'm sure you do now!
Best,
Paul Hancox | InfluenceMagic.com
P.S: My goodness, somebody hire her, quick!
I am still in the process of baking my first baby, but your e-bay listing was forwarded to me by a good friend. I couldn't help but share it with my mother. She only has the two of us, my sister and myself, but we where prone to sneeking things into the cart well through our highschool years. Mother got her revenge- a summer time knee surgery while I was in college left me to do all of the grocery shopping and cooking for a few months!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the laughs!
Amanda
Your E-Bay auction won my heart, and made me laugh. The entire time, I was nodding my head and laughing because I know exactly what you're going through. And I only have half the brood. "Wow, you have THREE GIRLS?" Yes, they're all in pink. "HA HA I bet you wished you had bought stock in Tampax!" Um, no, I don't. "Awwww your poor husband, outnumbered!" Well, yeah, but he's not poor, he's in heaven with three princesses. "So are ya gonna try for that boy? Or are you finally done?" What boy? Oh, you mean the boy you think I wanted instead of the beautiful girl children that I have now. No, we're not crazy. We wanted 3 children, we have 3 children.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you're awesome. And I hope you don't mind, but I linked your blog in my own. If you'd like me to take it down, just let me know!
People can subscribe to your blog by using an RSS feed reader. Google.com/reader is a common RSS feed reader.
ReplyDeleteAll they have to do to subscribe to to put the URL of your blog (http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com/) into the feed reader.
They'll have to know how to find the 'subscribe' section of their feed reader.
I'm another here from your ebay link, which a friend sent me. With 4 children 5 and under I TOTALLY understand the grocery store adventures! LOL Thanks for the laugh! (oh come on, you know you'd laugh if it had happened to someone other than you ;))
ReplyDeleteLike most others, I found your blog from your eBay auction, which I found through a link on a message board. :)
ReplyDeleteMom of 7, pregnant with #8, so I know where you're coming from. LOL! I, too, love the "are they all yours". *snort*
Anyway, your grocery day made me say an extra prayer of thanks for a responsible 16 year old son with whom I leave the children with to go grocery shopping. In fact, a trip to BJ's with no kids is like date night for my husband and I. How sad.... but you take what you can get, huh? :) God bless.
HI Dawn! so my mom got this email from a friend about your ebay site. she actually thought it was me! Of course i had to remind her that if i had a blog, she would have it bookmarked, and i don't sell stuff on ebay. but i do have six kids (8,7,6,3,1,and 4 wks), and our stories of grocery store adventures are very close to the same. i will have to start reading your archives so i can laugh at someone else for a change. maybe we should meet sometime. wouldn't that be funny...12 kids, all 12 and under. thanks for the laugh for today! Beth
ReplyDeleteOmg- your auction sent me laughing into hysterics
ReplyDeleteare your children awear of the auction?
by the way i heard about it from momcentral.coms mom board. yOU should join you would be a riot! Keep rocking!
I'm a mom of 6, too. Isn't it funny how an ordinary day in the life of a large family can be cause for amazement?
ReplyDeleteLove your ebay auction and your blog.
Found your Blog and Ebay auction through a popular Message Board.
ReplyDeleteI'm an Army wife and mom of 5 (ages 14mo, 3, 4, 6 and 7) and I swear I've said the same things to my kids in the store as you have. Even my "lecture" is just about verbatim of yours! LOL
Good luck with things my dear!
Ha,just read your ebay thing...boy do I ever know personally everything you said!I have 5 kids...THANK GOD they are mostly all grown now...the youngest 3 are 10,15 and 17...I still have those issues when all 3 coming shopping with me!~Debra
ReplyDeleteThe internet is quite amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour product description on the Pokemon cards was hilarious, as you've no doubt heard a kajillion times. Probably almost as many times as you've heard the question, "Are they all yours?"
Why would people ask that? I mean, unless you looked like the kidnapper type?
Nice to have found your blog!
Wow! What a great read. Thank you for sharing your family with us. Please keep it up, when you have the time. Your writing is sure to reach many and remind us that there is always something to smile about.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious and I can totally relate and I only have two! Thanks so much for a great laugh and for making my day better!
ReplyDeleteSomeone posted a link to your auction over at www.theparentstation.com which I followed to here. I see the cards are up over $100 now -- too funny! I say you should buy yourself something nice and thank the kids for their help!
ReplyDeleteWow. I know you are overwhelmed with the response to your HILARIOUS ebay auction. My little brother actually sent it to me because he said it sounds JUST LIKE ME. I read it and laughed out loud at work with tears in my eyes because he is absoultey right. We also have six kids and boy do we know the production that results from going ANYWHERE. Bless you honey! If you ever want to swap notes (My three boys (9, 13, 14)are pokemon, yu gi oh, etc., crazy and have tried the sneak cards into the cart trick) just email me! :) That is... if you even SEE this comment out of the throngs you already received! :) Take care!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about your life as a mother of 6 kids in a humorus way! You defintely need to write a book. Great Blog! You have a way with words!
ReplyDeleteThank You for making my day!
ReplyDeleteAdd another number to your 'hit' list! Father of 4, 2 of them grown already (thank goodness, never thought they or I would live through it!).
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work and the great blog!
I think we must be kindred spirits, although you write so more better than I's could! You perfectly described my six-pack!!! I feel your frustration. Why must people feel the need to ask if they are all mine? And no, I do not have lots of helpers! You take them for a day and see just how helpful they really are!
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks for the laughs. My 10 are now in various stages of having their own child chaos experiences. Those years with little ones are stressful, funny, exasperating, wonderful and horrible. Now, after losing my wife, I have ten best friends. It's worth it. It would be worth it with one, or two or any number, but I feel extremely blessed with ten wonderful adults to share my life with, and grandchildren to remind me of some of the fun of those early years. Thanks for reminding me of $500 Costco shopping adventures.
ReplyDeleteYou are an awesome mom!!!! Keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteOk , so I will add to your plethra of comments. :) Don't worry about responding as I know you won't have time. I just wanted to say thanks for the laughs and putting everything into a lighter perspective. I have 5 boys (ages 7, 6, 4, 3, 18 mo) and the next one is due in Feb. I am with you on the chaotic days. I wanted to invite you to a forum board called MOMYS. It stands for Moms Of Many Young Siblings, and most of us there have anywhere from 4-12 (or more) kids. Hope to see you around. BTW my screen name on MOMYS is Mom2ztsle in case you do want to come check us out. :) Continue having a blessed time with your kids, no matter how crazy it gets!
ReplyDeleteMy MIL forwarded me your ebay auction with a subject line of, "Sound familiar?" ;) I also have 6 (aged 8mos - 9 yrs), and you made me feel VERY lucky that mine only act like that at home!
ReplyDeleteI just subscribed to your blog with Google Reader. Very easy to do and it constantly checks all the blogs I read and lets me know when someone has added to their blogs!
ReplyDeleteWow. Im exhausted reading that, and I only have 3 kids.
ReplyDeleteWHen baby 3 came along, I stomped my foot down HARD on hubby and made it law that I would NEVER EVER take all 3 kids to the store.
You are a brave brave woman. I bow down to you.
Oh my gosh! I can stop laughing. Thanks for brightening my day!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to not feel alone! As a mom of 7 children 8 year old and under, life is never dull here either!

I found you via Etsy.com's forum, then through the e-bay listing. Your story is wonderful. I can't imagine how you do it all! xxxxx

p.s you can add Wales to your list now! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi there! :) I'm Lisanne over at Bathtub Junkie ~ mom to Lucas (2.5 years old) and Meredith (turning one this Halloween). I *loved* your eBay auction and hope that you get a *loooooot* of money to go grocery shopping with next time! :) I broke down into tears once in Super Wal-Mart when I was 400 months pregnant with our daughter and my toddler son was being a BEAR! hehe :) I can *so* relate. Best wishes! I'm adding you to my BR list.
ReplyDeleteI just read your auction and laughed until it hurt. Great writing!
ReplyDeleteSomeone posted a link to your ebay item from their blog, which is how I found you. You deserve to cash in on your shopping experience! (I'm not a bidder, but I wish you well.)
ReplyDeleteAnd your pictures are a hoot--they look like the same era as my pictures, which I will NOT be posting on the internet! I wore outfits of similar vintage and endured puke-green carpet and awful decor too, so I suspect we are a similar age that I will not specify *smile.*
Thanks for the smiles today.
You are one funny lady. I have 6 kids and man do I feel you on this one. I have a my space page and would love to keep reading your blogs you can find me at myspace.com/barbnearl I look forward to "meeting" you
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through your riotously hilarious eBay listing which has now been posted in the Etsy forums just because it's so darn funny. I was glad to find your blog just as amusing as your eBay listing.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you, I don't even know what to say! But I'm glad you are able to look back and have a laugh at your kids' behavior. I'm scared to have even a SECOND kid because I don't know what the heck I'd do with them in the store! Oy. I've been to that Target on Randall Rd and I don't want my kids being one of their meat-poking lunatics. (Even though I know I'd love them all the same!)
Thanks for brightening my day!
Susan

ReplyDeleteNo need to reply, I can see you are busy, I just wanted to say that reading your ebay listing and now your blog has been the highlight of my day. Considering I have to clean the house, do the laundry, and go to the gyn before my two boys come home and ask for dinner it may be the only highlight I have today. So thanks!
ReplyDeleteLarua
Someone from our T2CHK forum posted a link to your e-bay listing..such a great posting! I've bookmarked your blog so I can come back and have a proper read later ;)

As the 3rd of 6 kids, I fully remember the exact shopping trip you described on e-bay! =) Thanks for the great story! My mom is coming to visit me today, and I can't wait to let her read it.
ReplyDeleteYou're all over Babycenter! Very funny read.

Sorry to add to your e-mail that you are getting (congrats btw, you may not like it now, but it is really cool! LOL) but I just wanted to tell you, I got a google group, for people who wanted to subscribe to my blog. Then I put the e-mail address to the group, in the section of blogger, where it says it will e-mail to the address you put in the box. That way people can sign up for the group, if they want to get your entries in their e-mail. Course I also made it so people can't e-mail through the group, because I couldn't handle anymore e-mail myself! LOL Good luck, sorting through all of your e-mails!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in a cult/email group of women, we call ourselves the BABMs (read: Big A$$ Boob Moms). We all met through a pregnancy site and after experiencing pregnancy together and surving soley on the humor and support of one another we have remained close cyber friends. One of our lovely ladies posted a link to your auction, how wonderful! I love your writing and can already picture you on the late shows, lol.
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging and writing, and auctioning! You'll be a millionare before you know it :)
Blessings from Louisiana!
I found a link to your ebay ad on FARK.COM, that led me to your blog. Your blog is great! I am a mother to 3 and my kids have made the wood piece also rip thru the sofa...Glad to know Im not alone.
ReplyDeleteI hope great things happen for you as a result of this auction. I really enjoyed it and particularly identified with walking around the store with a toddler's spit out samples in my hand, hunting for a trash for ever, pushing the cart with one hand. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to write a book...just publish your blog! Wow, I don't even know how much time I wasted reading your blog today...you're such a good writer!
ReplyDeleteYou must be looking forward to when school starts (i.e. when half your posse gets to be someone else's worry for half a day.)
ReplyDeleteYou should sell more stuff!
My sister has 4 kids and has tried to limit Pokemon acquisitions...to no avail.
Hi - I saw your auction on ebay ... you're awesome! I only have 1 child and the grocery store might as well be the 5th ring of hell ... to do it with six and return home will all of them still living is truly an accomplishment. Sometimes people forget that what it takes to make a truly spectacular mommy ... love, patience, self sacrifice, commitment and of course a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your wit and for giving me something to think about the next time I am at the store!
tatgrrl24, Charlottesville, VA
I am actually your first person in NH woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteI'm on to you. Your no mother of six. You're Carol Burnett. We REALLY miss your show.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs! I found your EBAY ad via a link on a multiples message board I frequent. As a mom to twin 4 year old boys, I can relate to much of your grocery store visit. We also have a pre-shopping lecture (which gets longer each visit), and I've come home several times now with boxes of crap I had no idea I purchased. And why are they so fascinated with pushing on the meat packages? Anyway, I'm definitely going to keep following your blog, and I really hope you consider writing a book. Seems you've touched a lot of people with your writing.
ReplyDeleteI loathe going to the grocery store with one 2yo - i couldn't imagine six. I promise never to ask another mom with lots of kids if they are all hers!! You made me laugh until I cried. Keep up the Good Work !! Julie from Pittsburgh PA
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that you are a very good writer. I have 2 sons. I could not imagine going to the store with 6 kids.
ReplyDeleteI think you should start a myspace account and post your blogs there.
If you already have a myspace please add me.

To help people subscribe to your blog, I'd recommend bloglines.com. I use them to watch all the blogs that I read, which now includes yours! You're really funny (as if you haven't heard that recently), and I have a blast reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteWOW...you have a way with words. Your writing talent is amazing. I will definitely be back...I'm adding you to my favorites list as we speak. :D
ReplyDeleteSandi from GA
You have and are traveling the world and have not left home. LOL. You were posted on our cat board yesterday, we love you and vote you to write a book. Your hysterical, I hope you keep the world laughing for a very very long time. I love kids, if you ever need help Hollar. Smile.
ReplyDeleteMy friend e-mailed me your e-bay listing and I thought it was great! I HAD to check out your blog! Mark it up...You've got another loyal reader now. And you can add Haiti (/Tampa, FL which should also be considered a 3rd world country itself!) to your list of countries represented by your "fans"!
ReplyDeleteI loved your ebay auction. It was hilarious and hits way to close to home. I'm the mother of three boys and I can't imagine what you have to go through on a daily basis. God love ya sista!! You are definately an extremely talented writer and you should write books. I sure as hell would buy them. Best of luck!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I just have to say that this is the best fun I've had from work in a long time!! (although my co-workers are a bit concerned about all the snorting coming from my office). As a fellow mom, I'm right there with you. I'm posting a link to my Mommy forum because I think your writing is hilarious. You'd fit right in on our mommy board!!
ReplyDeleteOff to the bathroom now... too much giggle-peeing going on...
You can add The Bahamas to this list. Great reading. You are a talented writer.
ReplyDeleteKind regards,
Tracy

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO THIS BLOG...
ReplyDeleteIn the upper right hand corner under the pic it says subscribe to this blog. It also has a box that asks you to enter your email if you would like to be notified when this email is updated. Seems pretty self explanitory, but I don't know, I haven't tried it yet.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DAY!!! :)
Your eBay link was put on a parenting site I visit.

I just wanted to say that you are a very talented writer. You should really consider writing a book. You know how to keep peoples attention, and say things that people can really relate to. Your ebay story was absolutely hilarious! God has blessed you in so many ways, and with so many talents! Thanks for the laughs.

Add China to the countries visiting your blog. Blogspot is blocked so we have to use proxy servers here.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not Chinese. Just an American living abroad.
I use googlereader and can subscribe to blogs there.... in fact, I just subscribed to your blog! :-) Other than that, I really don't know how else to have people subscribe.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Another comment from Israel ... your eBay posting (the Pokemon cards) just knocked me off my chair. Am feeling so much better now ... thanks.
ReplyDeleteAm thinking to send your stuff to my husband. He thinks my "stories" of time with the kids, etc., is all (a) my imagination or (b) because of some parenting knowledge that I'm missing. Nah. He'll probably just figure you've got the same imagination or need to learn the same stuff I do.
Sending you huge quantities of strength energy and light ...
You're gonna have to hire yourself an assistant to help you through all this mail! LOL
ReplyDeleteI thought 4 kids were enough,,i feel like days I am gunna litterally pull my hair out,,I am glad that there are other moms out there that go through the same stuff i do. my kids are 8,4,3, and 11 months---my house is crazy and all i do is clean, clean, and clean--you are one funny lady,,,,cant wait to read more
ReplyDeletehey...I read your, um blog i guess, concerning the pokemon cards and speaking as a 16yr old $40 for 44 cards is cheap. The (shiny) holographic one is probably worth $5-30, maybe even more, all on its own. I had a price manual, but I'm not sure if I still do, however if you know the name of "shiny" card I can try to find out for you just how much you could have made. And if that happens again and you let me know maybe I can help you w/decifering prices...lol...
ReplyDeleteYour "shopping story" had me in stitches as it was so funny, but I guess it was not at the time for you.
ReplyDeleteWell at least you've gained something from that shopping trip, in addition to the new grey hair, and stress lines caused by shopping with your children!
Found your blog via a link to your Ebay auction (which was posted on a Mums group I go on called "FunMums") and I just followed it from there to your blog here. Know quite a few of the others on there have also checked out your site, and you've made us laugh with your children antics, and some nodding in agreement/sympathy too!
Hope to hear more from you, as you tell the true story of "trying to stay sane whilst bringing up children"!!
Hi, there! I'm a manuscript editor as well as a mom of three. Your writing is fresh and light. Definitely work on the book, then let me know when it's finished and I'll edit it for free. WWW.InspirationForWriters.com, ask for Wendy.
ReplyDeleteyou can add Egypt to your list of countries!!
ReplyDeleteI found your auction on a mommy board and found my way to your blog. i have to say you made my day. Thanks for your wonderful sense of humor and your amazing ability as a mom to stay sane, i have 1 child whose driving me nuts!!
There are 6 of us as well. And reading your stories brings back HUGE flash backs. One of the classics is my four brothers peeing out of the 4 car windows at the same time, when my mom went into the store for a quick something (back in the 70's). She came out and about DIED of humiliation that her 'brood' was "at it again!" Love YOUR stories!
ReplyDeleteHi from England , I had the best laugh ever reading your pokemon ad, keep on with the writing,Pat
ReplyDeleteI got the link to your Ebay listing from my cousin in Florida. I'm in Chicago and I am proud to say you're in Illinois! Just one question, did Oprah call yet? She will!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Just wanted to say I have six kids too. You made my day when the the universe had been pooping on it.
ReplyDeleteI work, have six kids and go to college. In the past few days my kids have gotten sick, My internet (which a majority of my courses are on) crashed and my husband and I almost got divorced this morning.
How do you keep your cool?
