It really does take a full 10 to 14 days before you feel like doing anything. I am 26 and had my tonsils out it June and it was hell!! I couldn't eat anything, even drinking hurt. I lost 12 pounds in a week and a half. It took about 2 months before I felt better and I have had strep throat 2 times since then!! Hoping and praying his recovery goes okay! And I can't even begin to decribe the pain of throwing up when you've just had your tonsils removed. It ranks right up there with giving birth to my 2 children w/o drugs. He had to sleep sitting up for a week, and couldn't swallow anything except milk. He lost about 10 pounds and didn't snore at all for about 6 months. After that, he gradually started snoring again, and now, 3 years later, he's back to the same volume as before. He could really breathe for the first time in years! Days 3 and 4 are the worst. But the snoring is almost gone. We figure it will be gone when he's completely recovered.
